Just for fun my friend silvam14 is welcome to modify my current version of the just below the knees shorts of my 1943 AAGPBL South Bend Blue Sox.

Take a gander of what I have:

silvam14 would need to modify my model for the 1970s White Sox shorts.
1. different colored shorts and socks for White Sox from the Blue Sox.
2. the White Sox shorts were above the knee, not just below the knee. silvam14 would have to shorten the pants proper somewhat.
3. silvam14 would have to experiment with the skin showing section and it would be hard to fit its color for all skin tones. with shorts above the knee like the White Sox used there would have more skin showing in 3D than my model.
4. silvam14 could raise or lower the stockings to fit his taste.
5. my Blue Sox pants template is with black shoes. the steamcommunity link posted above hints how my template would require slight changes for the default white shoes.

The MLB 2022 templates are set for anyone that wants to use them! I've included 2 jersey templates for the old and new versions, a easy to use cap template, and an easier to use pants template. All layers should be set to where all you need to do is color fill layers for piping and such via layer masks and locked alpha channels. Other than that, resize logo images and you're all set! These uniforms follow, as closely as possible, the cuts used on IRL MLB uniforms (complete to the mesh side panels cutting the pinstripes on the jerseys). The only thing missing is the league logo on the caps, because the current structure for the caps make it too difficult for me to bother with.

Its all as it's own layer on GIMP! Just delete the layer and you're good to go!

I just realized I made sleeve extensions to the vest for the 60s style option rather than making the ends of the vests colored.

I will fix that.

Thinking of making an instructions for making jerseys. This is my current process and I will add examples later tonight. By cranking up the textures, lightening and moving the stitched on items above the texture layers seems to add more definition.

1) After you have all your preferred layers colored and logos added, turn off the button placket, and texture layers to create the diffuse map "Jerseys_XXXXX.png".

2) I move all of the stitched on items (logos, numbers, name plates, stripes and piping, etc..) to the top layer above the texturing.

3) Then either invert the colors of the stitched items to have them white on near white or find another means bring them to a lighter color than the primary jersey color.

4) Leave ironed-on items below the texture layers and color change if wanted.

5) Create the height map by follow the stickied forum thread on how to make normal maps "Jerseys_XXXXX_n.png".

Actually, never mind, I created a layer from the old template using the zipper layer from there.

It's all good. The 1941-42 Cubs had some kind of sleeve extension, so someone may use them.
