Speaking of the Klitschko's, I'm torn as to whether or not to have them fight each other. Any thoughts? Any responses will be the deciding voice, and I think there is an entire year before they enter the uni.

Magomed Abdusalamov 41-6-2 (30) vs Seth Mitchell 41-7 (37)

Rematch: Mitchell TKO2, Abdusalamov UD12

Magomed stormed out of his corner and stunned Seth with a right hook that set off a wild exchange that ended with Mitchell flooring him with a left hook, Magomed was up at six and gave as good as he got until another murderous hook put the Russian down for the count. The fact that I don't allow anyone to fight for a title off of a loss leads to some guys like Magomed getting screwed a bit, but this is huge for Mitchell and he should be thankful this started before his chin came to light!


Alexander Povetkin 34-5-1 (21) vs Eric Fields 32-7-3 (22)

Rematch: D10

Fields had a huge opening round, landing with sharp jabs and hooks that swelled up Alexander's right eye and led many to believe this was a style issue. After a boisterous, and camera hugging, outburst in the corner from Teddy Atlas the Russian took over and pelted Fields with strong combos before an uppercut iced the American in round four.


Calvin Brock 20-0 (17) vs Shane Cameron 25-2 (17)

Brock's inconsistency continued as the Aussie out-worked him early in heated action with Calvin content to lay on the ropes. In round five Shane dropped him with a devastating right hand and Brock barely beat the count and held his way back to his corner.

Brock came on from there, hurting Cameron in the seventh with a right hand and opening a cut on his forehead in round eight. They traded on even terms in the final round and Cameron took Brock's "0" in an upset SD. 95-94 x2 & 94-95


Lateef Kayode 35-9-2 (22) vs Chazz Witherspoon 31-3-1 (22)

Witherspoon was very impressive early, using his athletic advantage to fire off combos and move out of the way of harm. As he slowed, Lateef got in with clubbing right hands, but it wasn't enough and Chazz took the uD. 97-94 x3

I was very surprised by that result.

Nah, it won't affect anything. I don't get into the behind the scenes stuff, a century+ of fights will take long enough as it is I just had a buzz on, it will just be business as usual.

(World Champion) Sultan Ibragimov 26-0 (21) vs David Haye 22-0-1 (15)
(First defense)

Both men felt the magnitude of the event in a mostly cautious opening round, Sultan was more active with his jab but a right hand late by Haye was the most significant punch. After David took the second with two right hands and they engaged in a putrid round three, Sultan was able to score well to the body in round four of what is shaping up to be an abysmal affair.

David controlled the fifth with little more than feints and occasional right hands.In round six a hard right hand from Haye momentarily stunned the champion and Ibragimov came back with strong combinations that drew swelling from Haye's left eye. Sultan landed a hard hook early in the seventh and floored the challenger with a combo later in the round, David was up at six but a stiff jab opened a gash over his already swollen left eye and Ibragimov scored with another hard combo before the bell.

Haye showed courage by rebounding quickly in round eight against the apparently tired champion with a series of stinging jabs and body shots, he briefly stunned Sultan with a hook late in his best round of the night to date.

The final third of the bout provided very little action, Haye was slightly more active and he scored with a big right in the final round. The judges verdict of a draw, 117-112, 113-114 & 114-114, leave the sport in a perplexing situation. Does anyone want to watch a rematch?


Seth Mitchell 42-7 (38) vs Derek Chisora 33-6-3 (20)

This was an expected slug fest and they didn't disappoint, Mitchell dominated early and he floored Chisora in the third with a right hand. Chisora mounted a rally and he dropped Seth in round seven before gassing out and allowing Mitchell to drop him twice more in the ninth and they both were exhausted in the final round. Mitchell took a well earned UD, 97-89 x2 & 96-90


Luis Ortiz 42-8-1 (26) vs Denis Boytsov 32-2 (23)

Ortiz looked better than he has in ages when he ripped into Boytsov with hard jabs, hooks and uppercuts in a thoroughly dominant opening two rounds. Boytsov came back in the third and they went toe to toe in the fourth, each being hurt by hooks in a heated round (16-14). The action slowed, but the Cuban had a big final round fueled by a stern attack downstairs. Alas, the judges rendered a hideous decision against the former champion and it was a unanimous draw, 95-95 x3



Odlanier Solis 34-5-2 (24) vs Martin Rogan 28-3-1 (18)

Solis used his educated jab to take the first two rounds but in the third Rogan landed with a booming right hand and he hammered the Cuban along the ropes for the final minute of the round. Odlanier got back on track until the sixth when another right hand rendered Solis flat on his back, he barely beat the count and the crowd roared while the underdog took it to his rival. Down the stretch featured a lot of holding from Solis and he worked well at times in the clinch, Martin hurt him again in the closing moments of the bout but he fell just short and Solis was awarded the SD. 96-93, 94-95 & 96-94

I felt that Sultan had won the fight, not quite that wide but I really think I have to move on for now even though they're fighting in the same month. It was pretty lame, then again Haye has a draw with the champ and no other titles to fight for. Perhaps I'll strip Sultan of the WBO(that has to break away at some point anyway) for skipping a rematch.

Rematch: D12

After a slow opening round, Huck lit the champion up in the second round with sharp jabs and thunderous right hands. Arreola responded in the third and they traded throughout the round on the inside with short right hands and uppercuts drawing swelling from the German's left eye.

They both took a breather in round four, but Huck staggered Chris with a right hand with a minute left in round five and a barrage of blows put the champ on the canvas for a seven count, Marco connected with two clubbing right hands before the bell. Showing tremendous resolve, Arreola ripped into the challenger to open the sixth and busted open his nose with an uppercut during a dominant comeback round.

Chris continued to pour it on in round seven as blood gushed out of Huck's apparently broken nose, but he gassed himself and the German turned the tide again in round eight when he rocked Arreola with a right hand and created a mouse under his left eye with several more. Round nine started with two right hands from Huck but Arreola unleashed a 3 punch combo that dropped Marco for a four count and smeared his nose across his face, the ref and doctor conferred and despite his pleas to continue Marco was denied and the bout was halted.


Mike Perez 45-9-2 (34) vs Erkan Teper 45-10 (30)

Two long time contenders squared off for the first time and Perez continued his surge towards another shot at an elusive title with a brilliant Boxing performance. Teper caught him a few times but Mike used his speed and combination punching to win a comfortable UD. 97-93 x2 & 97-94


Alexander Povetkin 35-5-1 (22) vs Sam Peter 20-3-1 (16)

Peter came out strong, staggering Povetkin multiple times while winning the first three rounds, but his beer belly betrayed him and Alexander began to strife him with wicked 3 and 4 punch combinations until a vicious uppercut put Sam flat on his back for the ten count in round six.


Tyson Fury 34-6-5 (24) vs Franklin Lawrence 33-3-3 (20)

Lawrence dropped Tyson with a picture perfect hook a minute into the fight and unloaded the kitchen sink at the big Brit but he couldn't close the show. What he may lack in chin, Fury makes up for in heart and he bulled the smaller man to the ropes in round two and battered him with uppercuts and hooks in an equally dominant stanza. Tyson dropped him in the third with a hook and Franklin took a more defensive stance from there, while he countered well at times most felt Fury was unlucky to be saddled with yet another draw. 95-94, 94-95 & 95-95


Matt Skelton 22-2-1 (20) vs Travis Walker 27-4 (24)

I expected a war here, but Skelton came in looking pregnant and gave a total non-effort; holding as much as punched. Travis did what he needed to do, banging the ample midsection of Matt and wearing him down before flooring him in the eighth and flattening him for the count in round ten with murderous left hooks.


David Price 45-10-1 (37) vs Chazz Witherspoon 32-3-1 (22)

Price has been near the top of the rankings for a long time and came back from several dark points, we'll see if he can do it again because Chazz unloaded a nasty hook/cross combo that landed flush and put the Brit down for the count after only forty-nine seconds of action.

Arreola solidified his position atop the division with four defenses, blow outs of Seth Mitchell and the previously undefeated Fabio Maldonado in 4 rounds and 2 rounds respectively. Then he took on Marco Huck in two absolute wars, a Draw over 12 and a ninth round TKO.


2. Alexander Povetkin....Russia....36-5-1 (23)

After opening the year with a D10 against Eric Fields, Povetkin reeled off three straight wins over top opponents; stopping Tommy Zbikowski in 4, Fields in 4 in a rematch and a sixth round KO of Sam Peter.


3. Sultan Ibragimov (World Champion, 1D)....Russia....26-0-1 (21)

Ibragimov is starting to complain about his lack of respect after a big year. He iced Kubrat Pulev in 1, took UD10's over Mariusz Wach and Darrel Madison before stopping Bermane Stiverne in eight rounds. That landed him a shot at Robert Helenius and the World Title and he capitalized with a UD12. His year ended with his first blemish as he had to settle for a Draw against David Haye in a fight most thought he won.


4. Seth Mitchell....USA....43-7 (38)

Seth opened the year with the beating at the hands of Arreola, but he rebounded strong with 3 wins, a decision over Wach, a demolition job over former world champion Magomed Abdusalamov to take their trilogy and then a UD10 over Derek Chisora in a war to once again put himself in title contention.


5. Robert Helenius....Finland....39-9 (28)

Robert defended his then world title with a MD12 over Denis Boytsov before losing the laurels to Ibragimov in his only two bouts of the year.


6. Marco Huck....Germany....30-4-2 (20)

Marco stopped Jason Campbell in 7 rounds before the disappointing results in his epic two bouts with Arreola.


7. Denis Boytsov....Russia....32-2-1 (23)

Denis stopped Odlanier Solis in six rounds before the tough loss to Helenius for the world title, he rebounded with a UD10 over Kevin Johnson before being lucky to secure a D10 with Luis Ortiz at the end of the year.


8. Mafomed Abdusalamov....Russia....41-7-2 (30)

Magomed remains ranked from his lengthy run as INO champion because 1911 was his best year. An unlucky clash of heads left him with a TD1 over Edmund Gerber to start the year, he stopped Jason Massie in 9 rounds before being decimated by Mitchell. A lot of questions linger here.


9. Luis Ortiz....Cuba....42-8-2 (26)

Another former champion looking to get back to the top and he had three straight wins, UD10's over Michael Alexander & Manuel Charr to go with a ninth round KO over Alexander Ustinov before the unlucky draw with Boytsov.


10. David Haye....England....22-0-2 (15)

David won a wide UD10 over Francesco Pianeta and stopped Johnathon Banks in 5 and Pulev in 4 rounds to set up his draw with Ibragimov.


April looms a big month as Haye looks for a rematch with Ibragimov after the draw in a horrid bout. We'll see what the champion and the 4 organizations he represents will do next year

Sounds like Hucks' good for a third bout once he heals up and gets tune-up in.

I was so pissed he lost I didn't even think to check. It was definitely tight, Huck had 3 huge rounds, so he was no worse than a point down if the judge gave Arreola every close round.

Fabio Maldonado 25-1 (22) vs Chazz Witherspoon 33-3-1 (23)

Maldonado dropped Chazz thirty seconds into the bout with a straight left hand, he was up at eight but held for the rest of the round to clear his head. In round two Chazz came back and scored with solid lead right hands and out-slugged Fabio in a vicious trade to close the round. However, fundamental issues with his feet saw Chazz floored again with a left early in round three and this time Maldonado dropped him twice more for the automatic stoppage.


Robert Helenius 39-9 (28) vs Alexander Dimitrenko 19-3 (16)

Helenius rebounded from dropping the world title in fine style by keeping Dimitrenko on the end of his jab and as time passed he started dropping hard right hands on Alexander's chin, he hurt him badly in round six and the ref stepped in during round seven when Robert scored with two big uppercuts(appeared to be a quick trigger, but Helenius was well ahead).


Tommy Zbikowski 36-7 (23) vs Artur Szpilka 39-10-2 (27)

Szpilka cut Tommy's right eye in round three with a lead left hand and had an early lead before gassing and Zbikowski came on down the stretch with right hand leads and hooks to the body that led him to the tight SD win. 97-93, 94-96 & 96-94


Dominick Guinn 16-0 (9) vs Jason Massie 39-10-2 (28)

Many thought this was a bridge too far for a first main group bout for Guinn and during a slow and tight first half it looked like they may have had a point, but Domick dropped Jason in the sixth with an uppercut and hammered him until two more knockdowns, the last a hook for the ten count, brought Guinn the big win in round eight.

Alexander Povetkin 36-5-1 (23) vs Mike Perez 46-9-2 (34)

Perez used his speed to open a gash over Povetkin's right eye in round one. Feeling desperate, the Russian upped the pace in round two and a focused Perez drilled him with counter combinations in a high octane round. Mike put the boots to him in the third, punishing Alexander with nasty combinations and hurting him multiple times in a dominant round. Povetkin stormed back in the next two rounds and then he dropped the Cuban with a 3 punch combo in round six as the two men least likely not to grab a title battled tooth and nail for a chance to prove that correct.

They went toe to toe on even terms in the next two rounds and Perez developed some ugly swelling on his right eye from the punishing hooks from the Russian. Down the stretch they continued to battle it out despite fatigue but Perez got the best of the final round with two huge right hooks. Alas, it wasn't enough and Alexander took the SD in this epic encounter. 115-111, 113-114 & 114-112


Seth Mitchell 43-7 (38) vs Travis Walker 28-4 (25)

Seth continued his resurgence, fighting off a bad cut over his right eye in round three and flooring Walker in the fourth and twice more in round seven before the referee waved it off after the third knockdown.


Odlanier Solis 35-5-2 (24) vs Johnathon Banks 30-4-1 (22)

Solis looked on his way to an easy win when he floored Banks in round two with a counter hook, Banks responded in the fifth when he put the Cuban down for a five count with a right hand. The overweight Solis did virtually nothing down the stretch and Johnathon used his jab and sporadic right hands to win the UD. 95-94 x3


Kubrat Pulev 44-9-1 (22) vs Bermane Stiverne 28-6 (22)

This was far from a thriller, but Pulev floored Stiverne in the third with a flurry and was more active throughout to earn the surprisingly SD. 97-93, 94-95 & 96-93


Eddie Chambers 17-0 (8) vs Travis Kauffman31-10-3 (15)

Chambers stifled Travis' offense the whole way and after Eddie dropped him with a counter hook in round four, he floored him again with a body shot moments later; Kauffman was up at nine but the ref wouldn't allow him to continue.


Malik Scott 15-0 (3) vs Kertson Manswell 17-13-1 (9)

Scott's educated jab ballooned Manswell's eye by round three, other than that there wasn't much to report as the light punching American made his main group debut with a wide UD. 99-91 x3


Calvin Brock 20-1 (17) vs Deontay Wilder 39-10-1 (31)

A single uppercut from Brock put an end to these proceedings early in the opening round and Wilder was down for several minutes.


JD Chapman 22-2 (17) vs Paolo Vidoz 22-1-2 (8)

This was a tepid affair with neither man doing a whole lot. In the end Chapman walked away with the SD. 99-91, 94-96 & 96-94
