No what the person wants is lets say the World Series ends 10-26-11 he wants the start date to be 10-27-11 so what's he's go to do is what Iv'e already said here is delete the 2011 schedule be in C. Mode and Sim up intill 10-27-11 then turn off C. Mode.

Again, this is not possible.

Start date will be January 1, 2012 with real stats, results, etc. from 2011 plus real free agents, etc.

To expand, I've tried this before, it ends up butchering a lot of things in the game. Not worth the extra 1 1/2 months in-game time.

We know that but make to one with 2011 Schedule still in their and I do is delete it and then Sim from their because I've done it before and it worked.

I have too. When you roll over to 2012, it will delete the statistics from 2011 that you imported, though.

But you are welcome to try yours this way.

First screenies from 2012! And yes, I realize ages are all off by one year, for some reason, OOTP still hasn't fixed this glitch when importing and keeping stats in the same year.

what do u use to unzip file on mac? stuffit expander doesnt recognize the file and it comes up as setup.exe

What he could have done is turn off Injures and be in C. Mode and Simed up intill 11-3 and then changed 2011 Stats in the Game with real ones from 2011 and also some how get Free Agent Period to start on 10-3 not in December.

Took mid-season from Post #151 and decompressed it to my saved games folder (..\Out of the Park 12\data\saved_games). When I attempt to load it from in game the progress bar works it's way past loading players, logos, etc. all the way till the end then stops with a full bar at "Loading Default Text File" and crashes out as in the following screenshot:

Any thoughts?

I'm new to OOTP, and have successfully uploaded CubbyFan's update to get started and explore. Whatever the latest update is as of early 2012, I will want to go in and reflect team assignments for a reality-based keeper league, and do batch uploads of the statistics (exp's ?) upon which game play is based, and tinker with ratings.

SO...on CubbyFan's set, there appear to be several key files relevant to my goals:
ml_rosters (I have the sense this has pre-update exp's and is not used by OOTP once I update)
mlb_rosters, mlb_rosters2, mlb_rosters3 --- assume these are the key files, but appear to be identical except for record sort order.

The question is, which do I modify with updated team and/or stats?

Question 2 -- has anyone compiled a list of all the fields, what they represent, and the range of legal values? Looking for the OOTP data dictionary....

Big thanks to anyone who can help!

Chugging along - here's some more screens in honor of the start of free agency!

(ratings subject to a decent change on some guys, these are mainly the end of season ratings from 2011, will stick with these for the time until new 2012 projections hit the internet)

Good news and a quick update!

As soon as the MVP final voting is complete, we should be staring down the barrel of a rough beta release. This release will be combining the 2011 EoS minor league rosters (with players who played in MLB in 2011 removed of course, since they are already in the MLB rosters) with the 2012 MLB rosters.

Basically, everything on the MLB level will be 100% accurate, although there may be a few random minor leaguers (not prospects, bit players) who are out of place. I'm going to try and go through minor league transactions to clean up as much as possible, but things always fall between the cracks. This version will have accurate salaries, ratings, statistics, history (NYY history is fixed!), etc. for all players.

From there, I'll be releasing incremental copies with minor league rosters completely polished, newer ratings for MLB players, etc.

I could wait until I get the minor league rosters completely polished, but I thought folks would like to play around with the offseason here and the random 24 year old utility infielder in AA on the wrong team probably won't upset too many if it is eventually fixed.

I will create a new thread for these when release is complete and uploaded.

Hope everyone and your families had a great Thanksgiving!

I was targeting a November release, and we'll be close.

I'm going through and working on contracts, the major league ratings are done (based on 2011 EoS ratings so there may be some things that don't look 100% right, but they should be close...have correct fielding ratings, pitch ratings, and other ratings... just need some tweaking based on new ZiPS projections which are not fully out yet), minor leagues have been imported (should be pretty close to accurate, minor league FAs are correct, I've moved guys who were traded, etc. during 2011... there may be some small omissions).

Past that, I'd like to get into the managers for the MLB level and make sure those are correct before we do the rough beta release.
