I agree 100%. If it weren't for the Defense this game could be 56-14. Wow that Defense has played great.

If Hartley misses this, game over, Vikings win.
And they are probably the favorite in the Super Bowl.

So, will Favre be back? |

To throw more killer interceptions? I hope so. That is the best part of Favre. He is Lucy for everyone that roots for him. He makes you think that this time he will do it, then he pulls the football away.

...or, Plan B: Favre could have run and probably gotten to the 35. There was a linebacker watching him but the LB couldn't have stopped him before the 35 or so. That would have been a 52 yard field goal, still somewhat make-able in a dome. Instead, The Ol' Gritty Funloving Gunslinger threw an ugly pick. Shocking! Never could have predicted that.

Too much blame goes on Favre no matter what he does.
Peterson, Harvin, and Berrian not being able to hold onto the ball cost them atleast 13 points... take away 7 from the Saints for Harvin coughing it up inside the Red Zone for the Saints and give the Vikings 6(2 Fgs) for coughing it up in their own red zone. Do some of us forget these things or just have selective memory? One play doesnt decide a game and never will. Last edited by jbergey22; 01-25-2010 at 01:14 AM. |

I agree, jb22. The blame ought to be shared by a number of Minn players. They had plenty of opportunities to put NO away. I'm a Packers fan, so I'm not too sad about the Vikings loss. Still, to be honest, I think the better team lost the game.

Packers/Vikings will be battling it out again next year. Both teams are young with a lot of star power. IMO the Packers were the best team this year that no one really talked about. If they wouldnt have been in the same division as the Vikings they probably get a home game and could still be playing. This whole Favre/Rodgers deal has actually made me like both QBs much more than I could have ever imagined. Im sure you know enough about Favre that I dont need to tell you why he is so great to have on your team. I like Rodgers so much because he followed a legend and IMO he is a lot better than anyone could have ever expected. He just goes out and takes care of his business and handled this Favre situation like a real pro. |

As far as ideal conditions for Favre returning go, losing by a fg in OT in a game you should have won on the road to get to the SB is probably atop the list.

I don't know if you are a Vikings fan, but this is why I kind of cringe when I hear Viking fans root for their team. There is no way you can look at me with a straight face and say the better team lost, after that team turns the ball over 5 times.

Ok. I thought it was Favre watching the game and so did the box scorer, but I have never really watched the Vikings that much to know how the Hand off is supposed to look. But still, that gives Favre 2 TO's instead of 3 and Peterson just one.

I see no problems in wondering if the better team lost when the total yardage is 475-257 and time of possession is 36.49 to 27.56 despite the Saints getting the free possession in OT. The Vikings gave the Saints the game, the Saints certainly didnt go out and take it. |
