Well, a few things ended up taking a bit longer than I thought, but I decided to go a bit more in depth with this release. Still looks to be close but obviously not last weekend.

For those of us who can't wait, are there any "must fix" items before starting in on these rosters?

Also there's an issue with the AI DFAing and releasing a bunch of prospects near the beginning of the season (guys like Matusz, Saltalamacchia, etc.). I don't know of an easy fix for this - all of these guys will end up becoming free agents. |

I've kind of put together a laundry list of what I want to finish on this project before we start with the new season and OOTP10, so here it is. I think I'm planning on releasing another version in the next few days after I finish up with managers/stadiums, as while it won't still be complete, it's much MUCH further along than the first release, and it always gives me some peace of mind to have my files out there on the internet, in case something like a system crash on my end would happen and I'd lose all this work. Keep an eye open for it tonight or tomorrow.
Here's what the next version will include: - Original 0.1 file plus... - Complete stadiums, from MLB to Rookie League, including park factors, dimensions, capacities, names, etc. Unfortunately, park factors are not available for rookie league parks, so I used 1.00 across the board there. For all other parks, I was able to collect three year data. Citi Field and the New Yankee Stadium will be included. - All coaches from MLB to Rookie Ball. I'm hoping to also be able to include a "coach photo pack" update with the set which will give us photos for the majority of even the minor league coaches. All of them have accurate birthdates, birthplaces, years of experience, etc. outside of just a few that I could not locate. - All players rerated through Single-A's. They've been re-rated for minor league translated stats, along with speeds, positions, etc. to be all accurate. I just realized that there are a few players on each team in the rookie leagues that are players who were not on MiLB rosters at the end of 2008 (most likely hurt) so I'll try to update their ratings for this next release as well, but no promises. - Player popularities have been updated to be more accurate. - Prospect rankings are closely tied with Baseball America (since that IS what OOTP uses), but of course that's only for the top ten. I've taken into account BP as well as BA for this release, and I'll be probably looking at some of John Sickel's information for the next one to update it more. - MLB Canadians are now from Canada ![]() - Jersey/Cap updates, logo updates, team color updates. All of them should be pretty close to perfect now. - Team realignments have been complete, whether it be a team switching organization's (Chattanooga Lookouts) or a team with a new name (Charlotte StoneCrabs), they're all reflected in here. I also went back and double checked to make sure the team's cities were all right, in the case of a team playing in the right city, but wrong state, or a lot of the GCL/AZL teams not having homes. Hopefully that's not too overwhelming. I'm going to try to fix the Yankee history issue in this release, but thinking that is going to be a little bit of a tougher project to be pushed back to the next release. Also, Markus has said he'll be able to clean up our file and remove all of those "extra" deleted (but not really deleted) leagues that cause the file to move slowly at times and show duplicate players/coaches on some screens! I guess all that's left after that is adding in missing players in Single-A, SS, Rookie Leagues, and rating them accordingly. Unfortunately, there's no translated data for Rookie Leagues (that I'm aware of, let me know if I'm wrong) so I'm not sure yet how I'll rate pitching/hitting ratings for those players. That will be a pretty big project though, so it'll likely be the next release. LONG POST! Hope that explains some of the process that will be going into the file! After the last file comes out, I'll release an update with updated transactions as well. |

You've certainly given everyone I think quite more already than they could hope to ask for.
Thank you very much in advance, Cubby. Looking forward to it. |

Cubby, Just curious if you caught my post on the last page about the St. Lucie Mets being on the Yankees farm system (instead of the Mets') and then having the players who should be on St. Lucie then dispersed throughout the Yankee farm? I picked out all of the guys who were in the wrong place for you. I'm just not sure if you saw it since nobody commented on it.

Also forgot about perhaps the most important part! All players from MLB to R will have correct total pro service years, which will make the players eligible for the Rule 5 draft and Minor League Free Agency correct each year.

Cubby sounds awesome. Are prospects from last years draft rerated? I'm thinking of someone like Aaron Hicks who's much more highly regarded now than he was when he was drafted.

Yes, moreso if they were in the team's top ten prospects (Hicks was #1 I believe, and was re-rated accordingly).

Hey, Cubby, are you gonna add the japanise pitchers that have signed? Like Tazwa to the Red Sox and Kawakami to the Braves? Thanks.
