I don't know what he's doing, but it isn't pitching.

I'm sorry, did Buck just say no activity in the Mets bullpen?

5 walks...1 IP and change.

Injury my butt. He just sucks. Oliver shouldn't be getting extra tosses.

Willie's lucky that ball hit Trachsel...he gets to use the injury time warmup for Oliver. But make no mistake, NONE of what happened was due to him getting hit, even after Wilson's shot.

Cards have to cash in here...the Mets are just too good not to deliver the early knockout when it is handed to you.

The Met's bullpen is going to be "prison pounded" from yesterday to today.

I can see another 140 pitches today, on top of yesterday's 100+.

True, but Trachsel just handed it to you on a silver platter. If Oliver can keep this at 5-0 or less he's done all you can ask.

Ohhhh boy. Oliver not sharp.

EDIT: Well, he's given up his two, has a man on third, but at least he notched an out.

I love Jimmy's baseball sense. You don't often see guys get that excited about a groundout.

It would be interesting to see the standard deviation for Trachsel's starts....I remember Carpenter last year had an amazing run of quality starts, close to 30 in a row.
Here's a sampling.

IP/ER Game ERA

6/1 1.5
5/4 7.2

5/4 7.2

That's start of the the year through June.

15 Starts: Game ERAs

0-3: 6
3-5: 2
5+: 7

Considering the predicament, Oliver (as GH said) does about all you can ask. Would've loved to get Pujols in, but oh well, great inning just the same.

*sigh* I love Jimmy, I really do, but I get sick of his half-ass efforts at fielding sometimes.
