My bad, I was publishing it locally.

Go to http://www.sim2005.com/autoface/ and it should update it now.

Comedian:

D/L V2.1.1.2.

It worked!!

Photos look great and will add immensely to the OOTP experience, especially since I play out all my games!

Both in OOTP 5 and 6 I ran a solo fictional league over 7/8 seasons with fictional facepacks. Really helps to "know" and relate to your players.

TXS.

Dave

PS-Both because the facepack is great AND your timely help today...left a small token of my appreciation at your website.

I thought I had this program pretty well wrapped up when a new thought entered this deranged mind.

I discovered a collection of rookie pitctures that t_wil1 had, and Gambo had donated some to the collection.

So, it dawned on me. If we can get a collection of rookie pictures, put them into a rookie folder and have a check mark 'check rookie folder', here is what would happen.

You are in 1975, the rookie class comes out. The draft happens, or actually, just the players are imported in. You run my program and it searches and adds the rookie pictures for the players. So, let's say Pete Rose's first season was in 1965. When you run it and have that checked, it would import in Pete's rookie picture if it was there.

Now, we then have a picture of Pete Rose from 1975. You then run the program and tell it to search 1970-1975 or close and it finds the picture of Pete from 1975 and overwrites it with this one in your league. So, if you actually had a different picture of Pete Rose for each year, he would actually age correctly in the game.

So, we need a rookie collection for everyone!! This may not be too hard, if we can find rookie cards for the players. Then pictures could be taken off cards when they get older. We could even take it further, like a picture of Pete when he is 55 and now a coach.

With only the 1980 collection now, I will wait until I get a larger collection before I add this option. So, let's get collecting. You can send them to me at webcomedian@msn.com. Please zip then up if you send more than one and have them in the firstname_lastname.png format. JPG is also ok, as I will convert it. Make sure they are the correct size.

So, I will go ahead and modify the program. The way it works now:

Let's say Pete Rose already has a picture from when you ran it in 1965. Now it is 1975 and you run it again. But you specify to search 1975-1976 instead. Lets say that Pete had a new picture in the 1975 folder, since he already has a picture in the game that is not a player_id picture, it would not use the one from 1975. I will change that to an option (overwrite any existing pictures), so, you can easily just add a later picture of a player and it will pick it up.

New Update:

Added the rookies. Under FILE, you will see download rookies. This is abou tan 800K file that contains the 1980 rookies. Once downloaded, you can unzip it to the folder that it unzipped to. (C:/AU2006/PHOTOS/ROOKIE)

You can add any pictures you want here in the format of firstname_lastname.png.

To use the rookies, you will see a checkmark called Check Rookies, mark it and then it will check that instead of the year folders. So, if it finds a match, it will copy it over. Then run it again to get the non-rookie pictures.

There is also a new OVERWRITE REAL button. This will overwrite any real photos that are already in the IMAGE folder. Why?

OK, let's say you have a picture of Al Kaline from 1965 to 1975. You locate one for each year. Put each one in it's correct year folder and then when you run the program each year, his photo will be updated and he will get older!!

NOW a call to the community. I need to get this collection bigger. We need some create people to locate some of the new pictures to add.

Here is the best way to do this:

1. Pick a player, like Al Kaline. Search the net for his pictures. I think the best source will be baseball cards. See if you can find one for each year that he played.

2. Do a year. Find all the pictures from a certain year. Collect all of them.

3. Do your favorite team, year by year.

Post in here that you are working on a certain collection, so we do not have 3 people collecting Kirby Puckett pictures. Zip up the pictures and e-mail them to me. (Webcomedian@msn.com).

I will make them downloadable from my program.

This could be an amazing project, but I need help from the community. This could be a historical replay person's dream come true.

Think how cool it could be to be doing your sim and see Willie Stargells afro shrink from year to year. Or a player having a mustache one year and none the next year.

Larry, I wonder if there might be a better place or system to organize a mass search and collection of players. Maybe you could open a public forum on your website specifically for the endeavor? Organizing the forums by year and the threads by team with the abilty to attach images would go a long way, IMHO.

In the interim, I added a new function to the program.

Under FILE - DOWNLOAD NEW PHOTOS

This will download a text file that contains a list of the new photos.

Last night, I went to E-bay and did a search for Barry Bonds Baseball card.

I found a few that were decent. I took them into PSP and got a face capture and organized them on my computer. I then uploaded them to a location on my server that my program checks.

So, if you download new photos, it will download and put them in the correct folders:

1987/Barry_Bonds.jpg
1988/Barry_Bonds.jpg
1989/Barry_Bonds.jpg
2004/Barry_Bonds.jpg
2006/Barry_Bonds.jpg

So now you can see Barry's face get fatter and fatter each year.

I've followed all the directions and the program says it executes but none of the photos show up in the game.

Hey Larry.

I've been using Auto-Face in a straight fictional league for a while now without any problems. I just started a new game with a historical league and a fictional league and tried to run your program on this new league and get this error:

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this

enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Thanks for any help.

Maybe I'm just blind, but:

Quote:
You must FIRST do a CSV dump for the league file. Open the league in OOTP and go to DATABASE and select CVS dump. This may take a while on very large leagues. Once you do that, exit the game and run my program
I loaded a league (rolen's opening day), and it opened at the database info page. I cannot find where just "DATABASE" is or where the CVS dump option is...Theres "export data to csv files" is that correct?

Also, from http://www.sim2005.com/autoface/, I believe I need the Net Framework 2.0 tihng, so I clicked Install and downloaded the file, but when I run the setup, it says an error occured while downloading a required file. I tried clicking the launch application thing to see if i do indeed have the required file, and it downloaded as "AU06.application" and I have no lcue how to run such a file.

Good unzip Program to open large photo file?

I'm eager to use this utility, but everytime I try to unzip the photo file, my QuickZip4 crashes. Can anybody recommend another decent unzip program?

Thanks

What OS are you on? IF you're on Windows XP, it has a built-in thing to do it.
