^ Good, another SMW - thanks!

BTW, just wanted to let you know the debut of your Denis Inkin creation was a smashing success in my uni last weekend - 5th round TKO. He's a force to be reckoned with.

Thanks, i don't know if he can hang with Kessler and the guy from Wales but from the fights I've seen, he has some serious skills.

Well thank you! I haven't seen him fight yet but am looking forward to it. There's another Russian SMW (Oganov) I think is how it's spelled & he's 26-0 with 26 KO's. I think Fenech is training him & is practically bursting with how good he thinks this guy will be.

SMW is an interesting division & seems to be dominated by Europeons. Think of all the champs from there: Benn, Eubank, Calzaghe, Catley, Kessler, Beyer & now these tough Russians coming up & Froch too.

There are a couple good ones coming up in North America. You got Jean Pascal and Lucian Bute from Canada and Andre and Anthony Direll from the States. I would include Andre Ward but i'm not sold on his ability to take one on the chin.

a87: Yeah, you're right about Bute & I forgot about the Direll's. I haven't heard of Jean Pascal yet.

Jean Pascal is a highly regarded SMW prospect out of Montreal. He fought on ESPN last summer and was very impressive. He has good defense and quick hands. The only downfall with him is that he showboats too much and comes off as a really cocky individual.

Thanks for the info, I'll have to keep an eye out for him.

Yeah,Bute and Pascal are both top notch prospects. I have been watching Bute for a couple of years now..he is a tough dude that throws some very crisp, nasty combos. Straight punches with power. Also Diaconu from that area...not really as high on him. I like Ward, but like you say..his chin is a BIG question mark. He reminds me of Allen Green, not style wise, just the way he seems to get hit flush just a little too often for someone with his physical skills.

The test of our progress is not whether we add more to the abundance of those who have much; it is whether we provide enough for those who have little.

Ward definitely has the physical skills to go far but his shaky chin and poor defense is going to be his downfall. He was knocked down by a guy named Darnell Boone who Pascal and Curtis Stevens (another SMW/LHW prospect) easily beat.
