Baseball Prospectus also came out with a BETA MLE's (major league equivlents) based on this seasons stats. http://www.baseballprospectus.com/minors If you check these out, make sure you click "future translation" on each team page. I was checking these out and was like "these are their actual stats" then I clicked that, and BAM MLE's. Every player that will probably be in the game will have a MLE on this page. GL with the rosters, just wanted to throw this stuff out to you to help out. BTW, I have the past few Baseball America prospect handbooks, full access to Baseball Prospectus, and used to work for MiLB.com in the past so if you need any help, feel free to PM me, or email me at DBR@nyyankeefans.com
I have been looking for something like this but never actually saw it on BP -- thanks tons, will definately incorperate it!!

Looks like we're getting closer to the release. Can't wait. Can you give us an updated ETA? I can't help but get all giddy waiting for the release. Thanks for taking the time to do this, good luck on finishing ASAP.

I ordered BA's prospect handbook with the top 30 for each system, so those guys will get done when that gets here. Then, for the second release, I'll edit those 30 prospects (or 20 since the first 10 are done already) as well as adjusting AA and A ratings based on stats I can find.

Hopefully that makes sense, but if I did it all at once, you guys wouldn't have anything in your hands for a while.
If you guys need any help with prospect ratings after you release the first set, I'd be glad to help.
BA's lists often leave off great players who don't fit their tools first mentality and often overrate guys with tools who haven't turned those tools into skills.

Agreed, Baseball America is HORRIBLE. I get their book every year for the bios but their rankings are horrible. They have ALWAYS been tools first which is stupid. Guys that put up good minor league stats put up good major league stats in alot of cases whereas tools prospects end up losing a tool or two and sometimes dont even end up making AA.

Yeah, any word on an ETA would be great, especially for those of us waiting to kick off online leagues.

Ugh PECOTA...please tell me you just used it as a template and not the exact ratings, PECOTA doesn't understand that some old players can actually do good.

Of course there are also many players who post good minor league stats but never do anything in the majors.

Eta

Stop with the incesant banter! ETA is all that matters. If it's July 1st, tell me July 1st. Just tell me something!

This is getting ridiculus. People need to chill out on the ETA's and Ratings questions, etc. If they knew an exact date of when they will be done with it, they would tell you. Cubby and Rolen have lives too, they don't just sit at their computer all day and work on the set. Also, if you have a problem with how they are going about it or how they might be rating some players, then just edit the players when you get the file. It's that easy. If their methods are such a problem, then edit it or do your own set. They don't have to do this, they don't get paid to do it. Please calm down. I'm not trying to start an argument, but people are starting to get a little out of hand

Your 100% right, I never said it was a 100% fact, but minor league #'s translate a hell of alot better than sombody's "tools".

I don't have an ETA right now, all three of my kids are sick right now so that has thrown things for a loop. What I would like is for people to please put all of your ratings comments in the other thread that I started. This way it will not clutter up this thread and you can start making your cases for certain players before the roster file comes out that way it may make it into the set prior to the release.

So the primary request I have for that thread is that you put in a reason for why you are requesting a player to be rated the way you are asking.

Thank you

I hope the kids are well soon man. I'm a father of three myself and I know how hard that can be. Thanks for all the work and time.

Are you guys planning on including logos, stadiums, and face packs or are there any out there you guys would recommend?

Developers

I don't want to sound rude. But I must say we are paying for the software which = to us being developers for the game. Since SI games can't get the license we have no other choice. Well done to all who are putting in effort to make this a realistic game and to show all greedy corporations regardless of their licensing policy for computer games there is always light at the end of the tunnel. I hope they are reading this.

Can't wait for the release date and most importantly the download link and instructions.

I would also like to know when uploading or importing this to the game will we need to setup the rules???? When I started my career I noticed that the 40 man roster rule was disabled which meant that some of my star players were in the minors. Also need to keep an eye on the DFA and Waivers options.

chow. Go White Sox.

Ever enjoy the fun of partitioning your hard drive after your computer completely dies from a virus?

I have.

Good news is that I backed up, bad news is I'm losing some work. I'm not giving an ETA on the release, because I've seen one too many times guys getting heckled because things come up and they don't get it out by a date. If I gave one I would be extremely optimistic instead of pessimistic, and don't want to set things up for that. I can just assure you that I actually enjoy this stuff (somehow) and am working a TON each day on these. This is a massive project with all players done from scratch, Rome wasn't built in a day.

I won't be answering any more ETA questions, or any more pestering about it. I'm stressed enough now that I have to go back and re-start some of the boring stuff I already did.

Sorry if I'm cranky... but I'm probably working 3-4 hours a day on this and when people bother me, it tends to get on my bad side, apologies.

EDIT: Erich, I just now got on after re-doing things, so I haven't even reinstalled anything (including AIM) ... if you could send me that last copy of the set we had sent to Markus to garrett.white@gmail.com I'd appreciate it bud, hope things are going better for you too.
