I don't understand all the excitement from some about the possibility of a licensed product.

Yipee, a default roster set with real names and logos that is usually at least 6 months old and full of errors, omissions, and innaccuracies.

IMO, a 3rd party roster set is always more up to date, always more accurate, and always has less innaccuracies than a roster set supplied when the software is released.

Third party roster sets for the win!

I don't care anyway because I prefer fictional leagues. MLB can kiss my donkey.
not true - at least in the case of EHM - EHM has an un-offical editor still in beta released months after release that states This editor will allow you to change some of the details in your saved game. This is only a Beta so please ensure you have adequate backups of your saved games before you edit them as we cannot be held responsible for any corruptions to your games.

This is nowhere near the current customization/edit-ability of OOTP which for me is one of the top three or four things about the game.

I agree with this 100% - I have never seen a roster set in any sports game that came from the mass market that has been better then what is available from 3rd party makers.

Oh I'm not saying otherwise and I wasn't aware if EHM came off the shelf with an editor or not - never really touch the things. Not sure if I'm just weird about that because I love to work on the creation of lots of leagues in OOTP. I'm sure everyone would love to have the options for editing that are in OOTP included in future EHM/FM titles.

Anyway my point stands. MLB, meh.

True, it could, but it could also let people have the best of both worlds. And selling only the MLB version in the shops (with an enormous MLB logo on it) could help avoid any problems.

I'd also like to think that most people would be intelligent enough to be able to read a warning and/or tell from the download link which game was which. Like I say, I'd like to think that...
