Well you are on a hell of a hot steak right now and DJ is slumping so yeah I think you have a damn good chance of winning the fight.

What the hell Gunsmoke got screwed, that lose has to hurt man damn. Mund's smash must be a hell of a punch to cause the ref to stop the fight after just that one punch.

Out of character:
An immediate rematch with Mund is going to be in his favour due to past experiences with the TBCB engine it seems to tend to favour the loser of the last match heavily so Javier if you want to make some pesos bet on Mund to win (I hope I’m wrong).
I haven’t posted in character for a while because a lot of my time has been spent at this site www.homestarrunner.com not that I was overly missed due to my fight record. Also Javier would it be possible for you to post the top 5 in all the stats after the completion of the tournament e.g. most knockdowns score/suffered, least punches land etc.
That’s just one of the reasons I keep playing this game. “Reason 27: Stats”

In character:
Firstly the only fight I really want is against the only fighter to defeat me “The Kid” but since he didn’t make it to the final 8 I’ll have to wait till I either win or am eliminated.

Once again I’d like to take the time to thank the man who set this tournament up King-Arum-Duva-and to a less extent Shaw-Javier, I’d still be at Las Vegas University earning my degree in Casino Maths if this man hadn’t invited me to participate.

To the rest of the top 8 I understand that I’m at the top of all your “to kill lists” and having fought 13 times and once against all of you I realise all my weaknesses and lack of experience as a fighter would have been made obvious over the duration of the tournament.

Mund! I put you down 4 times in our last bout and I’m going to do it again though for the sake of your health say down this time. If you win I will retire after I get my rematch with the Kid.
To be fair having been ring side in your tie breaker fight with Gunsmoke I feel I should be fighting him and as a result I want him in my corner as an assistant to my team for our rematch.
This is your chance Mund, your second life.

There’s only one thing more important to me then myself and that’s my mirror but after my mirror its my money and close behind that its my fans and I plan on putting on my gloves so I can put on a helluva show for them.

Thank you

I'm outraged at the result of the Mund/Somogyi fight. I want my $50 back.

That's gotta be a glitch with the game, doesn't it? That result, reading the bout log, is just ludicrous.

I have to admit that I have never noticed that big of a joke result in my own universe and I have 2,900 fighters in action. That said, I'll take the win over Gunsmoke and let the courts listen to his complaints.

My deepest apologies to you old chum.

I think the game just hates Mark since almost the same thing happen to him against Brandt. Hey Javier after the tournment is done Mund and Mark need one more match to break the tie so we can find out who really is the better fighter between the two.

It's crazy, because Chris was almost done in round one. In round two, he lands a big punch nine seconds in, and four seconds later the contest is over. How many more punches were thrown? There's no points to give an idea of what happened.

Yeah I've been playing this game everyday since April 2004 and running at least 10 fights a day for the most part and I've never seen that happen once. Was it the same ref? There has gotta be something wrong with someone in the bout. Either that or Mark is French and surrender's whenever he gets hit hard once.

Nope it was to different refs Cortez was the ref for the Brandt bout and Mercante was in charge of this one. I think Mark might be a frenchie and just never told us.

As an outsider looking in, the recent Mund/Somogyi fight needs to be scratched from the records and schedule a rematch. Mund must of paid alot of money for that ref.

Look this is the Biography of the polemic Ref in this Tournament

Quote:
Arthur Mercante
The dean of boxing referees worldwide, Mercante began his career while serving in the U.S. Navy under Gene Tunney in 1942. Among his responsibilities was refereeing service bouts. He continued officiating amateur bouts upon his discharge from the Navy and was a fixture at the prestigious New York Golden Gloves tournament for 10 years before embarking on a career in professional boxing.
Mercante may be best remembered for being the third man in the ring for some of the sport's classic heavyweight title fights.

Mercante counted out Ingemar Johannson when Floyd Patterson became the first man to regain the heavyweigh title, he officiated the Fight of the Century when Muhammad Ali met Joe Frazier the first time and presided over George Foreman's first heavyweight title fight when Foreman stopped Frazier in Kingston, Jamaica.

Mercante, who has worked on five continents, has refereed over 120 world title fights. That statistic takes on a new dimension considering there was just eight weight classes and one champion per division for much of Mercante's career.

Arthur boxed in the 1938 New York Golden Gloves and also attended New York University, where he was a member of the varsity football and swimming teams.

Mercante has been a resident of New York for over 60 years.

Bonjour Mike,

Je ne me rends jamais à moins que j'aie aussi

Au revoir,
Mark (I don't how you guys could think I'm french )

I have actually seen this sort of thing before and reported it in the betas. Typically it happens when you match up one of Pierre's Tomato Can Template fighters against a rating 10 fighter, which isn't what happened here... unless Javier has something to tell me

"Three steaming draws all presided over by Italian judges" fumed the much feared Kevin Scotia as he prepares for the quarter-finals. "If we settled these in the Legion parking lot like the old days, we wouldn't have to worry about ladylike men in fancy suits deciding who wins or loses."

Scotia has been working to improve his ability to take a punch by spending every Saturday evening at various taverns in fishing communities by dirty dancing with various wives of prominent boat captains. "I thought I could take just about anything until that little feller nailed me with a five pound bag of frozen scallops. That one cost me two teeth, not to mention the two-four of Keith's to keep him from hitting me again."

When asked if his rugged good looks were what attracted these women, Haggis indicated they didn't hurt, but nothing impresses them like a new pair of shiny rubber boots.
