I put my idea to dig deeper into the affiliate issue on hold since another, more curious issue sprung up. After advancing from 1935 to 1936, almost every major leaguer experienced precipitous speed/stealing/baserunning dropoffs at some point in the early spring. Just to give some idea, using the 0-100 scale (personal preference) the total number of batters that have speed numbers above 19 is exactly 4. Examples: Jo-Jo White went from 71 to 6, Lyn Lary went from 72 to 5. The minor leagues are mostly unaffected, although some players there also took hits. I have no idea if this is a bug or a program corruption. I'll probably reinstall the game and see what happens.

This was in v22, so hopefully it has been corrected, but if not - Al Nipper is given the start for Boston v Toronto on 06/16/85, when IRL Roger Clemens started it. In-game, Roger is actual on the IL on this date.

And again, @ Milwaukee on 07/02/85 - Bruce Hurst is given a start that should have been by Clemens, who instead remains on the IL in-game.

Looks like Clemens had recurring injury problems in 1985. He went on the IL three different times right after making a start. Each time, the transaction database places him on the IL on the same day he pitched. I have no idea if, in real life, the transaction took place minutes after the start -- or the next day. Anyhow, I changed the IL dates each time to the day after he pitched. Thanks for reporting the issue.

IRL, reliever Tom McCarthy made his MLB debut in relief for the Red Sox against the Angels on July 5.

This might be simply a function of him being a reliever, but he has made no appearance on the roster as yet.

The historical transactions database does not include minor league promotions or demotions. So, there is no entry for McCarthy to prevent the AI from using him before July 5. I could add an entry to make him inactive/injured until July 5. I'm not sure it matters, since, based on McCarthy's poor ratings, the AI will likely keep him on the reserve roster.

Yep, he was up and down like the Assyrian Empire all season so I reckon just let it be.

I have posted this twice and still have not heard from anyone about a solution...So apologies from me for posting again but this mistake is really hurting my season....I am in to my 3rd month of the season and i can not steal bases in an era where SB were a huge part of the game...see all the speed ratings...i have looked all over these threads for answers and can't find any

Found another one of these; same year, August 11. Clemens in-game is on the IL and the game gives the start to Nipper, who then has to start again the following day. Not sure if that was one of the three, but thought it best to be sure.

Have you considered experimenting with making McCarthy inactive or injured until July 5 to prevent the AI from using him, given his poor ratings and inconsistent performance throughout the season?
