3rd waiver round is closed.
On to week 6. No matches will be held tomorrow evening due to New Year's eve party. I may get a few matches in on Jan. 1st after the Nebraska game though. There will be no fights on Jan. 2 (Wife's birthday). That's all I have planned for the new year..........so it will be back to the UTBA II for sure starting Jan. 3rd. Have a safe and Happy New Year fellas. |

Week 6 will feature the UTBA II's first Inter-Conference match ups. As it stands now, 7 of the 8 individual titles have resided in the Gold Conference from the start of Season 2. This will be the first chance for a fighter from the Silver Conference to snatch a title and bring it home to the Silver.
A look at some of the key Title matches......... HW Champ (Sam Langford) & FLY Champ (Yuri Arbachakov) should have no problem hanging onto their straps this week. LHW Champ Roy Jones Jr. (Prime) will face a tough Bob Fitzsimmons (pre-prime). MW Champ Steve Belloise will face Paul Pender (both at Prime) WW Champ Henry Armstrong (beginner) will face boxer Johnny Saxton (pre-prime) Can Saxton give this youngster a boxing lesson? LW Champ Rolando Navarrete will more than likely lose his title to one of the super powers of the LW division. Will it be veteran Alexis Arguello or rookie Roberto Duran. FW Champ Barry McGuigan versus Bernard Taylor. (both at Prime) If Taylor avoids the knockdown, he should box his way to victory. Everytime McGuigan fails to score a knockdown in a fight, he has always lost. BW Champ Elley Bennett faces Johnny King (who looks to be the better fighter on paper). Both fighters are at Prime. Not in a hurry to face the Hebron boys...whew,looking at the matchups he has so many prime fighters(and good ones at that)that there is just no way for my boys to match up. I have done OK this season but this could get real ugly.

I really hate it that Hebron had to forfeit our match, was anxious to see what would happen.

Now guys break it up, my ring card girl could probably lose to both of your ring card girls, just like my team does virtually every week.

Just got home from dinner and Mary would like to thank everybody for the B-day wishes.
Since I've got her belly full, maybe I can get her off to bed early tonight and start week 6. |

All I can do now is wish Tommy and his Stockholm's Finest squad a record setting performance against the Champions in the next match. That would help set the table when we meet the Champs in two weeks. Not that I'm wishing any bad luck to Jeremy in the next match........just wishing lot's of luck to Tommy. ![]() Last edited by SAL; 01-03-2009 at 01:52 AM. |

HAHA---Congrats to the Corn Jabbers... Nice win by the Cornhuskers as well by the way Scot. Seems like they are about the only Big 12 team that has come to play thus far in the bowls. Speaking of which I am sure you arent cheering to hard against me as we need to show them boys from the Gold conference just how tough we are in the CAUNT division
