[The Game]

Pulled off a major trade that should benefit us in the long term but means we will probably not contend this year.
Traded SP Daniel Atkinson, C Ray Harris, 1B Axl Rose along with MiLB OF's Lenny Dykstra & Vince Coleman to teh Atlanta Rebels for SP Michael Urban, #67 SP Craig Campbell, C Luis Rocha, 1B Erik Carey & minor league OF Damon Thomas.
Urban will stay in the rotation this season but will move to the pen in the offseason.
Rocha gives us a C under contract for 2 yrs as a backup to Zeile for this season and a FA to be next year.
Carey will fill in at 1B & DH. He is a FA after the season.
Campbell gives us a much needed LHP prospect to hopefully join the rotation late 2001.
Damon Thomas is a minor league fill but could surprise some and make the ML roster at some point.

The LA Angels traded 3B Bryan Benson to the Washington Generals for CL Tyrone O'Day.
Rockers 1B Clu Haywood gets his 2000th Hit.
Kansas City loses RP Paco Sanchez for the season.

15-13 in May, despite injuries and some major trades. i still believe that even without Atkinson & Rose, we can contend this year for a Wildcard.If MGR Chuck Bremer doesn;t put together a winning streak soon, i will take control of the everyday lineups and staff.

June looks to be a tough month. While the teams we face are not that good, we have no off days til the 14th. Baines hit .409 in May.

I think we did well overall. I will not negotiate with players past the 1st offer. i have 2 players that will not sign with me unless i give them $1,000,000 +. I filled some voids in teh minors for the players i drafted that I do not have to negotiate with.
