GATORS AND SAINTS BOTH WIN IN SOUTH ISLAND SUPREME LEAGUE, GUEDON STILL LEADS BY A GAME
Arch-rivals Guedon and St. Dominic continued their quests for the top spot in the South Island Supreme League with victories Sunday afternoon... Guedon had its hands full with last place Meraux, but finally outscored them 11-8 for their 4th consecutive win... St. Dominic didn't have any trouble with third place Bar Harbor, sinking them 7-2... the Gators are one game up on the Saints in the league standings and two ahead of the Acadians.

Bad News!

My North Island-South Island League is corrupt... will not load.

Will try to get some help from OOTP Tech Support.

Fortunately I had a backup that restored my Islandian Pro Alliance, but there was no backup for the NIRL-SIRL.

It gives me an error that says the league was made with OOTP 20 and that I need to use it to restore it, but when I try to use OOTP20 to restore it, it gives me an error that that game was created with OOTP21... it is running me in a circle.

Doesn't make sense to me, but as all of you know, I am computer-illiterate and computer-challenged.

Probably will have to just start another league based on North Island.

I think I will make it two leagues with 8-10 teams each... I will probably choose teams that have already been created with really nice logos, jerseys and caps.
Will probably promote and relegate two teams each year.

I will create this new dynasty league using OOTP22.

I plan to search txranger, knuckler, low, Lawn Loaf and other graphics threads for logos, jerseys and caps... I want team names that are just generic or fictional in nature... no MLB teams or large cities.

I am going to find the 20 best logos, jerseys and caps I can locate.

I plan to play this league in a very simple manner... I will not control it in any way... I will just create it and let the AI do its things... I have never done this before... I also have always micromanaged things.

I will just let the league play out by itself... I will just pick a year to start... probably in the mid 1950s.

This is just a plain old simple selfish plug... I rescued this dynasty league from the depth of despair on dismal page two of the OOTP Dynasty Forum and restored it to the very wonderful and magnificently beautiful page 1.

I will continue the North Island League and pick it up in 1954 just like I left off... I will have two 10-team leagues of equal skill and promote one team each year and demote one team each year.

I think the graphics are excellent... they have been made by the best skilled artisans I could find... as you know I love beautiful logos, jerseys and caps as much as I love OOTP... I personally think graphics are 50% of the game's enjoyment... the other 50% of enjoyment come from Markus and the OOTP Crew.

I spent about two weeks looking for these teams... a few of them will be taken from my Islandian Pro Alliance league and from the original North Island and South Island Leagues... these graphics are the best of the best I could find.

Hope you will come back and follow my new North Island League.

I think this will be my ultimate league and will be the last one I will ever create... for the rest of my life I will concentrate on the new North Island League.

I'm excited!... I hope the new North Island League will be as good as I'm hoping it will be.

Give me a couple of weeks to get everything done.

Sorry to hear about that. This has been an excellent read with superb graphics that certainly added a nice touch. When you start up again, I'll be following. And thanks for the reply on my dynasty "The Lords of Independent Baseball."

My new North Island League will be just like the old North Island- South Island Leagues only it will be with many new teams... I will use some of the old teams, too... the ones with the best logos, jerseys and caps... that is what the new league will be... really nice graphics done by the best designers.

I will continue My Life storylines, real history stories and music from the period... and I plan to add a touch of humor to it as well.

If you liked the original North Island-South Island League, I think this will be better... especially the logos, jerseys and caps.

I'm looking forward to seeing what all of your new uniforms and logos look like, and the names of the new teams. You've been saying that they're exceptional. I saw some previews in your other thread.

Take that with a grain of salt... one man's trash is another man's treasure... beauty is in the eye of the beholder... people's taste varies greatly... my taste may not be your taste.

I have narrowed it down to 31 teams... so I will have to cut 11 pretty good teams graphics-wise.... out of the 31 teams I would say maybe 20 or so are very well done... the other 11 sets I just like them for one reason or another.

To make the cut all elements had to be well done... Primary Logo, Secondary Logo, Home Jersey, Away Jersey...Caps, too... many times I just use 1 cap for both teams... I like the team letter on the cap, not the team mascot image or a letter for the team nickname... I just want the letter for the town name... Letters show up better in the game... if one element was lacking in the team set, I would not use it.

If the creator placed letters over buttons, I would not use them... luckily, one person was nice enough to revise it for me... he reworked it with the button gaps.

low was really nice... he reworked four or five of his teams for me... changing some town names and creating a home white jersey or an away gray jersey for me that he didn't include in the original set.

Once I decide on the 20 teams I will post them here in this thread.
I went through low's entire thread and Lawn Loaf's entire thread for teams... I already had many knuckler and txranger's work over the years, so I didn't have to go through those 600 pages again.

low did quite a few of the teams.. he is so thorough and so prolific.. he gives you primary logo, secondary logo, wordmark, home and away jerseys, many times alternate jerseys, home and away caps and alternate caps... Lawn Loaf, knuckler and txranger did some of them as well... sadly, I had to do a few... I think it will be noticeable when you see one of mine... I also chose just some very simple logos and jerseys sets, just because I like the colors and the simplicity.

I tried to get a variety of styles and colors in the mix... they are almost all done in a traditional style with traditional colors... nothing fancy and complex... simple designs show up best on the game screens, especially at the small 50 x 50 pixel size.

I have 35 teams to choose from... have to cut them down to 20... will be tough to do... but it is a very nice problem to have.

It was tough... had to cut some really good graphics.

20 teams are set and ready to go in the new South Island League... it will have two 10-team divisions... promotion and relegation... maybe two teams from each division each year... I think that will be workable... no playoffs are possible when you use Promotion/Relegation mode... but you can schedule extra regular season games to break any ties for the promotion teams and demotion teams.... the AI can break ties, but I prefer to do it myself... I many times disagree with the AI's pick as far as All-Star teams, Award winners and breaking ties.

I think I will choose South Island because I have a beautiful logo with a tropical theme made by txranger... I made the North island League logo myself... 'nuff said... txranger wins in a 4-0 sweep... hands down.

I will begin today to create the new South Island league... may call it the South Island Alliance, South Island Union or South Island Association.

I created a new map of South Island showing the new towns.

I fixed the lake... colored it blue... and removed the black outline... much nicer... I am now at peace with myself and will be able to sleep soundly tonight.
