The St. Louis Cardinals have recalled infielder Nolan Gorman from AAA Memphis and sent outfielder Matt Koperniak down to the Redbirds.
Gorman, 23, started the season with Memphis before being called to the majors on April 10.
In 37 games/34 starts in St. Louis, Gorman hit .207 with three homers and 11 RBIs.
Gorman was sent back to AAA on June 6.
The left-handed hitter has played in 19 games/18 starts for Memphis, during which he has hit .208 with three homers and 11 RBIs.
Koperniak, 25, has played 20 games/15 starts while with the Cardinals this season. He has batted .195 with one homer and six RBIs during that time.

Starting Pitcher of the Month: Jack Flaherty -- The 27-year-old right-hander went 2-1 in five starts with a 3.51 ERA. He also pitched a shutout. In 33.1 innings, he struck out 33 and had a 0.84 WHIP.
Reilef Pitcher of the Month: Nick Robertson -- The 24- year-old right-hander got into 13 games going 4-0 with a 0.67 ERA. He struck out 20 and posted a .082 WHIP over 13.1 innings. Robertson was named NL Rookie of the Month.

The St. Louis Cardinals have placed shortstop Tim Anderson on the 10-day injured list after he suffered a sprained elbow during a 5-3 loss to Milwaukee on July 1.
Anderson, 30, has played in 60 games this season and batted .296 with seven homers and 36 RBIs.
Getting recalled from AAA Memphis is 24-year-old infielder Samad Taylor.
It is second trip to the majors this season.
In his first callup, he went 0 for 22 over 12 games/five starts.
At Memphis this season, Taylor has hit just .178 with six homers and 10 RBIs.
