I've been buying and playing OOTP since '10. They've never disappointed me and every year I purchase the game the minute I receive the pre-sale email.

Bottom line you can play a large league longer with 64 bits. |

I asked this on another forum, but will I be able to import my OOTP21 game into OOTP 22? I usually uninstall the previous version of OOTP right before I get the newest version. Should I not do that until after I import the OOTP21 game into 22? Pardon my ignorance. Please go easy on me. I am home sick as in home with illness versus being homesick so be gentle.
Thank you!

I would recommend keeping 21 installed until you know your game is working successfully on 22 though.

Would the almanac run any faster?
Haven't used it in years because it was so slow. At least for me. Isn't 64 bit like having more lanes on a highway for more trucks? I do know it takes awhile to copy a league folder with a simulated league from 1871 to present day. Doubt if the 64 bit can help with that. |

I about failed my sole programming course in college when I couldn’t install the software to learn how to program buuuut...
It sounds like 64 bit may allow me to finally run my MSA league that has (I’m pretty sure it was) 384 teams in every US metro stat area all in 1 division! It would always crash on trying to pull up the league schedule for obvious reasons haha. The goal with it is to have teams play each other randomly without geographic influence, and then seed a huge tournament pool after 100 or so games. If it does work I’ll be sure to post about it on the fictional forum for 22. Excited to preorder on March 1st to celebrate my birthday! I think this’ll be my 8th or 9th version of the game, so I’ll be getting it even if no amount of 2^n bit will make my league feasible! I am curious to see what someone thinks though. |

No game is perfect and I think the OOTP team would be the first to admit that this game is no exception. However, I also know from what I have personally witnessed and experienced with this team that they work very hard at making the game better throughout the year, not just every year. They also listen to their customers which is more than I can say about other games and especially other companies and their "tech support".
I'm 48 and I used to work in the video store rental business for nearly a decade from 1990-2000. One of the perks of my job was being able to rent the new videogame systems that were released and we didn't have to pay anything. I played them all: Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, Nintendo 64, Sony Playstation (PS1). I mostly played sports games and I played the heck out of "Triple Play Baseball" on the Playstation. However, I haven't played video games on a console in years and the only time I do now is when I visit my nephew and niece and they're better than I am. I discovered OOTP 8 years ago and I've played many PC games, but OOTP is by far the BEST. Somebody on this board years ago said it best when they said, "It's your game. Play it your way." There really is no right or wrong in how you play the game. I don't know about you all, but I'm excited and can't wait to play OOTP22! I even took off the day of its release so I can get to play it. Yes, the game has flaws, but so does every game. But show me another sports game that accurately predicts the playoff winners and World Series champion. Show me another sports game that allows you to be GM and manager of any team, historical, fictional, or current which emphasizes realism and accuracy over style and substance. Since this is a Q&A thread, I actually do have a question for the OOTP team and that is this: will we see historical 3D stadiums in OOTP22? I would love to see a 3D rendering of Polo Grounds, Ebbets Field, etc. Thank you for listening to my long and winded message, but I just wanted to express my sincere appreciation to everyone involved. Check out their work here: https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...d.php?t=287547 BTW, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the other talented modders there as well. People like eriqjaffe, Nielsoncp, gohorns98, isedelyod, et al, have really gone above and beyond the call of duty in creating 3D stadiums for all of us to enjoy. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...lay.php?f=3879

Matt I have a league with 100+ seasons played. Will 64 bit benefit me when converted to 22, or will it only benefit new leagues created in 22?
