Freeman Hero Again

New York Mets (44-50) 2 @ Atlanta Braves (49-43) 5

Atlanta, GA - Freddie Freeman cannot be stopped right now. Heading into the bottom of the 9th the game was tied after Cody Martin blew the save. Carlos Torres took the mound for New York hoping to push the game to extra innings. Freddie had different ideas. Torres faced 3 batters and that was it. Simmons opens the inning with a single & Bethancourt followed with a walk. Then stepped in Mr Freeman who 2-3 already on the day with a double so the Mets knew they had to be careful. They weren't careful enough... On a full count, Torres hung a slider & it was walk off time as for the 4th time in 3 games Freeman went yard & the Braves left 5-2 winners. The wild finish & Martin/Simmons rough 9th inning overshadowed Matt Wisler outstanding day. He went 8 innings surrendering 7 hits & a run while striking out 13. The young pitcher has had some up & downs in his time in the Show but today showed the talent he has & the upside Atlanta sees in him. The Braves will look for another sweep tomorrow.
