All three years of the Blue Jays existence, Oscar Gamble has made the All-Star team. Last year Pete Vuckovich also made the team but this year, like the first year, Gamble is the sole Toronto representative.

Already with Skip McBeath on the sidelines, now Jerome Thomson has joined the walking wounded. They kept it together enough to down the Minnesota Twins 7-6, though! Biff Pocoroba went 2 for 5 with a two-run homer.

Jerome Thomson is expected to miss two weeks with back tightness.

Eli Bastien and Jarred Cooper have signed minor league deals.

As Thomson goes on the D.L., Shannon Pugh is called up.

The Blue Jays were cruising behind a nice debut by Shannon Pugh and a big homerun by John Howell, when things just fell apart. The Brewers put up six runs in the 8th off Mike Parrott and Rick Baldwin while taking advantage of the defensive shortcomings of the Jay infield, finally winning 7-4.

WP - Moose Haas (10-6)
Save - Bill Castro (18)
LP - Mike Parrott (10-9)

Mickey Mahler shut-out the Blue Jays as the Brewers won 4-0.

The way the injuries have messed with Toronto's defense was really apparent was they made 3 errors, including 2 by Phil Mankowski playing short.

LP - Ed Whitson (10-3)

With the Blue Jays on the brink of a loss, with two-out in the top of the 9th, Dan Meyer hit a huge grand slam to give Toronto a 9-6 win over the Twins.

In his first game back off the DL, Al Woods went 3 for 4 with a walk (and the one out, still had him reaching on an error).
