Btw, I'm definitely
so bear with me. But I could be wearing rose colored, fan-influenced glasses. Can anyone remember another team giving the cup to someone who was not an alternate captain, first, before the Hawks did it in 2010? I just remember that the Cup went to Marian Hossa first then, and tonight it went to Michal Handzus (what a pickup) first. I thought that was really cool. And after that to another veteran, Jamal Mayers, who didn't even see the ice in any game for the Blackhawks. First class organization from top to bottom

As a Bruins fan, this one hurts.... a lot.
But I'm glad it was to a classy organization that absolutely deserved it. Chicago had just a little more left at the end, and were better at capitalizing on mistakes and lucky bounces the entire series. Crawford was lights out tonight for the first 30 minutes when it looked like the B's were going to run over them. Big props to Shaw, who drove me nuts in this series, but managed to get back on the ice after the puck to the face. I can't imagine that cheek is going to feel good tomorrow (or maybe it will....). Thank god it wasn't Vancouver (or Pittsburgh, for that matter), that's all I will say. |

One more post, even Patrick Kane acknowledged Corey Crawford was robbed of the Conn Smythe.
On another note, I feel so good for all the new guys on this team who played such a big part in getting the Blackhawks getting another victory. They earned their day with the cup throughout the season and even moreso during these playoffs when our top guys started slowly vs. the Wild and the Red Wings. |

And now that a Bruin fan posted, I thought I should acknowledge the fact that no one else will remember tomorrow morning. Immediately after the loss, I could hear the "Let's go Bruins" chant during the handshake line, and couldn't help but feel absolute pride surging throughout me. Not just because my team won, but because Boston fans and media get a bad rep. Those fans who chose to stay and encourage their team, wow

That was a pretty good game up until the last minute and a half. What's even worse is my dream of this being the first time in Stanley Cup finals history where both teams wind up losing has been crushed.
