I miss the text evaluations of players. Like "So-and-so is a career minor leaguer" or "So-and-so comes around once in a generation. A sure Hall-of-Famer."

I have another post in the thread, but thought of something that I would like more.

Proposed expectations when signing. Meaning that when I am going after a free agent I can express my intent with them. In the proposal I am able to express my intent there position within the team, wether it is for a backup position, #1 starting pitcher, player with a shot to make the mahor lague roster. This might help with a player that is a boarderlone sarter that you intend to start. They may take less money knowing they are penciled in in the starting lineup.

This would also work with signing minor leaugers. I can't remeber the amount of times I sign a free agent (espically hidden players found by a scout from another counrty) to a minor league deal. The player is always put on the AAA roster. When I demote him to the proper league they always get angry with the demotion. It would be real nice to sign them saying I am signing you to my AA team. Thay way they may not want my offer, or accept the offer knowing they would start out in a lower level.

Too many posts to see if I'm being redundant, but:

1) Ability to set scout to "Scout Free Agent Pool"

2) Option for league system like football/soccer, with promotion/relegation. I know an online league is doing it, but it's gotta be complicated.

This is a very interesting idea, but I must say it isn't obvious to me how you would translate these consideratons into an algorithm for the game engine.

Improved game text. I would like to have back the

"Cabrera leads the national league in doubles"

Further, if it could be improved to

"With that double Jacobs overtakes Uggla in career doubles for the Marlins and moves up to 2nd place behind Cabrera"

"That home run from Bonds has taken him to within 5 home runs of the all time great whats his name"

With the current stats generated I would hope that it would be not outside the realms of possibility!

However the game is great regardless!!! and im from England!!

I'd like to be able to switch between home, away, and alternate jerseys for players - at least when playing out games.

A database schema as per Football Manager. Would make writing editors like importing nations.txt so much quicker...

The ability to customize the playoffs in further detail. (Reseeding after the first round, double elimination tournaments like the College WS, or round-robin style.)

The only thing that I would change is one of the decisions I see the AI constantly make. A guy on 3rd and one out. The AI has some decent hitter up and my guy walks him. Then they have a sh*tty hitter up. Its now 1st and 3rd and 1 out and the hitter BUNTS!! Not a squeeze bunt. Just a bunt to move the runner from 1st to 2nd. That is very stupid and would never be done in real life. Even if it has been done in real life, it doesn't change the fact of how stupid this is. This is borderline a bug.

I think the ability to have the scroll arrows to scroll through every list of players profiles there are...From all the players in your organization to all the players the AI is willing to give up when shopping a player to all the players in the Free Agents pool or Draft class. I would make it so much easier to see which players you'd actually want instead of clicking on the player, viewing his ratings and stats then having to click back to click on the next player.<BR>
I also would like to see the hit streak leaders come back to the leaderboard. Also a hit streak record in the record book would be cool too.

Agreed, I like all the streaks!!, plus I would like to be able to sort career v pitcher stats, ie so i can see who has seen the most pitches from a guy, nost HR best average etc.

Also, a way to flag a player so when you ask AI to reshuffle your organization, it will lock him at his current league level. I don't micromanage (not enough time) so I like to ask AI to reshuffle. But there are certain players who can perform very well at ML level, yet the AI insists on deporting them to the minors whenever it gets the chance.

Honestly, I'd ask to have the old 6.5 game screen back. To me, it's the only major thing lacking in 2007. The Broadcast Screen doesn't have enough info/stats, but has the graphics, while the Webcast Screen has too much and not enough, or maybe not the right info, for my tastes (No last season stats or fulls stats. I want to know how many doubles, etc. a player has).

Give me back the old game screen and I'd never stop playing this game. As it is, I can't go more than about two or three games in a row.

Just one man's opinion.

Have a slider or two built into the setup/rules screen to control the accuracy of the SiSa scouting . While scouting is better then it was in previous versions, it's still not quite there. I think this would be a quick fix, especially for online leagues that shut off scouts for ease of sim issues. One slider could be set to potential accuracy the other set to actual ratings accuracy.

Another something I would love to see added is a development tab added to the players page, maybe under the scouting tab, so we can track daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, or career ratings changes.And not like the current emails we get saying a rating has changed, show me which direction it's going!!!

Poking around the forums here, it seems this was a feature in earlier versions but was since abandoned or am I wrong on this?

It's a shame, really. That one non-feature has put me on the fence for purchasing the game since the rest of it is outstanding.
