maddux is 13-10

peavy is amazing

Carmona's ERA is waaaaay lower post allstar break
CC's is almost a run lower
Byrd's is slightly lower but he's 8-2 since the break with 26 walks in 180 ip this year
True, but it's almost always how you perform all year that determines your team's success. On that mark, I'm still taking the Pads trio.

I hear that Bobbutton's is now prez of the FCFC (Fausto Carmona Fan Club). It would be beyond awesome if Fausto won the Cy Young after going 1-10 last season.

my thinking was that the tribe's 3 is pitching much better now than they did early on and will carry that into the playoffs. i would be concerned about Young in the playoffs if I were the pads given his performance over the last month. it doesn't always guarantee success but i'm going with the hot hands

Comparing how I felt about him last year when they tried him at closer and how I feel about him now? Night and day, my friend.

Gibson swings, and a fly ball to deep right field! This is gonna be a home run! Unbelievable! A home run for Gibson! And the Dodgers have won the game, 5 to 4; I don't believe what I just saw! I don't believe what I just saw!

Cleveland clinched the division this afternoon. What a month for them.

Very nice.

Now kick some ass in the playoffs. I don't want to have to root for the NL in the World Series.

I started this thread in April and the title has now come to fruition! Back to the playoffs after a 6 year layoff.

That was an impressive outing. He didn't strike out too many, but he didn't walk many either, and the Yankees just beat the ball into the ground.

Cleveland needs to swap Cabrera and Peralta, though. Peralta looked terrible on that infield hit of Abreu's, and it doesn't seem like that is an isolated incident. He's solid and has a good arm but not quite the range of a shortstop, although I admit I haven't looked closely at the numbers. Depending on how the Blake-Marte 3B situation gets sorted out, though, Peralta might make a good 3B solution.

Sounds like a typical Carmona outing, ton of ground balls, not many walks, and keeps the ball in the park. Fausto wins the same way Wang does but with better stuff and more upside; he's younger.
