Just a great performance... I actually turned off the MLB.tv after Sheff's hr thinking it was going to be Monday night all over again but after a few minutes I had to turn it back on... I think my favorite part of tonight's game was seeing The Game and Swish going nuts in the dugout after he scored the go ahead run in the bottom of the 8th... I really like this team

The Rockies are closing off sections, but not using a tarp. I guess they want the option to have seats available if there is demand. I mean, if the A's go on one of those win streaks ... every seat will be filled. I was at that historic game. Even Mount Davis was filled (almost). It's tougher to have to remove the tarps and everything that may grow under it. The Rockies are doing it right.I guess other teams are considering it. The Padres did it before they moved to their digs in downtown San Diego. The idea is right. There is some feeling that the change will make the game more intimate. Often you have fans showing up buying the cheap seats and you have all these gaps. It's probably why the BoSox are having a hard time leaving Fenway ... baseball's most intimate park. I think it's also going to give us an idea as to the size of stadium the A's will build. I wouldn't be surprised if the new A's park, whether in Fremont, Oakland, or San Jose checks in somewhere between 35,000 and 40,000 seats. |

What a fun game to be at last night!
I gotta say, I'll gladly trade a 15-2 shellacking for winning the series. The mancrush on Milton Bradly is slowly developing :P

I know it's only three games in, but he seems to be having a great time and is blending into the clubhouse. I want to give him a kiss.

Always nice to take two out of three from the Skanks...especially to start the season when we've been VERY slow out of the gates over the last couple of years.
One question, I don't get the oppurtunity to see the A's on TV up here, how is Ellis swinging the bat?? Making solid contact and just getting unlucky or just not looking good right now??

I think he got a knock or two last night, but on the whole I'd say the offense really hasn't been very good this first series.
For now, I'll just be happy if he doesn't run into anybody and tear a labrum :P

Alright, matchups for this series
4/6 - Loaiza vs. Meche 4/7 - Blanton vs. King Felxi 4/8 - Zito vs. Moyer 4/9 - Harden vs. Pineiro It'd be nice to get 3 of 4 from the M's |

Weird lineup today as Ellis finds himself in the three-hole.
![]() Scutaro SS Kotsay CF Ellis 2B Chavez 3B Johnson 1B Bradley RF Payton DH Swisher LF Melhuse C I'd also have Swish at first, Payton in left, and Johnson as the DH. |

After what just happened (bases loaded, no runs scored), the other lineup move I notice that would have been better would be to put Bradley behind Chavez. With two on and two outs, the M's were able to just unintentially intentionally walk Chavvy because no one is afraid of Dan Johnson. He's a good hitter, don't get me wrong, but he hasn't had a knock yet this year. Bradley is a hotter hitter right now.

Yeah, and he likes to say things like, "The players write the lineups," and then he does **** like this.

And Chavez owns the Mariners. It's not specific to any one pitcher. The Ms would be better off just putting him on base every time he comes up. |
