SEBL - Looking for members!
I'm the interim commish while Jase [avwjase to you guys] is off getting married, honeymoon and all of that romantic junkaroo.
![]() So, you probably don't know me since I've yet to really make a name for myself in the OOTP community. I signed up with an account two years ago and made a few posts. Joined a few leagues. Other than that, I'm a nobody. Buuuuuut, I'm here to pimp a league ran by a solid commish and a guy who runs stable leagues. I was an original mmber of Jase's FBBL and I'm happy to say that it's been running for three real years now and will turn four next February. I may seem like a fanboy and I probably am. But Jase is one great guy and one great commish. I've been in 14 OOTP leagues and only FBBL has lasted more than two months and the only league where I didn't actively question the commish's integrity. There were some other leagues as well that had seemingly honest commishes but not the ability to keep the league going. One of the testaments to Jase's leadership and commish ability is that since the FBBL started, we'd had a grand total of 9 members leave. We haven't had a single GM leave in the past year. That has to say something, I guess. Now, what I'm pimping? The SEBL, dummy! It's a unique approach to online leagues. Instead of taking over a team, you take over a player. You talk to the media to increase his image to gain endorsements. You spend his cash on homes and workout equipment to make him a better player. Not only that, you can take on the role of an agent. If you're lucky, an owner can hire you as a GM or a GM can hire you as a manager. We have a players union with a player rep. You name it and we have it. Everything except a grounds crew to roll out the tarp. ![]() The best part is, you choose your workload. Sign up a player and just work his contract. From there, just sit and watch as your guy plays. If you want to do more? Write media articles that gain you media image which eventually, once you're known well enough, will land you endorsement gigs. If you're still not involved enough? Take up as a players agent. Or apply as a GM or Manager. What makes this league really good is that money isn't just a waste like it is in other player leagues I've checked out. We have a PR firm that will write media articles for your player to get you image, for a price. We have a graphic designs studio that will make your player bio pics, banners, jersey's and anything you want graphically, for a price. You have a house, workout rooms and upgrades you can buy to make your player better. Then, if you're really a penny pincher and scrimp and save, you can actually buy a baseball franchise and then you're the owner. The king. The boss. What do you have to lose, really? I think I've made a great pitch and the league is stable and won't be a waste of your time. If history is any judge, that is. The workload is as heavy or as light as you want it to be. Sounds like a winning situation for you all the way around. Either you join and love it and can't get enough of it? Or you join and it's not for you. In that case, you're only out a few minutes of sign-up time. I wasted that much time sitting at stop lights this morning. So come on! Sign up! Right now is the perfect time. We're ending season one and if you sign up right now, you can get in on the first ever amateur draft! But the clock is ticking. I hope to see you all in the league. It's great and LOADS of fun. We're talking right now of bringing in a bank and players being able to buy their own companies and supply stadiums with beer and hotdogs and all kinds of stuff. Those are things not yet in the league but we're talking about getting them into the league. It will have a niche for everyone and anyone. Find your's. To sign up: http://jahzase.proboards15.com/index.cgi Just a note. We've had some problem with aol & earthlink addies having their password e-mails gobbled up and never delivered. If you should sign up and you don't get your password? Send an e-mail to me. My name is Tim and I will help you out. I do concur with Timmy here. I am in this league myself and I'm loving it. I think it's pretty awesome that you can take your player and mold him the way YOU want him to.
If I were you, I wouldn't pass this one up. Just check it out and see if it fits your fancy. Randy |

I am in the league as well. I am thoroughly enjoying my stay in the SEBL, and think that anyone who joins, will be blown away, by all of the little perks that have been added, to make the league even more interesting.
But don't take my word for it. Join up and give it a shot. I think you'll be glad you did. Bo |

We're still accepting members. We got a good wave from our last post and we're up to 110 players in the league! Pretty good for a month old league.
Our AMA draft for new members coming into the league will be this upcoming Sunday [18th] so get in on the SEBL while you can! Click the link in the first message and sign up in the New Players section. Tim |

Expansion?
We're about 20-30 members away from our expansion mark. The SEBL has been so popular that we're already full and working on the ability to fill eight teams with human ran players.
Tim made such a great pitch above, I can't really top it. But, here's some things you can check out and look into. We mainly need 4-5 OF'ers and a ton of pitchers. So, check us out! -> Great media writers -> Players Union that functions just like the real one. -> A working CBA document that governs the GM's and players actions. -> A bevy of agents. -> Human controlled managers, owners, GM's, agents and players. -> Corporate endorsements for players with high media image. -> Ability to buy a home w/ workout and special equipment to improve your player. -> Ability to buy and sell a team with money you've earned. -> A financial model provided by OOTP 6. -> A revolutionary media image system, ran by Brendan Horton & Jason Russell. -> PR firms. -> Graphic firms. -> Quality, polite and active members. -> Ability to craft your own contracts, clauses and get as creative as you want. Want a six pack of beer after each game? Throw it in the contract. -> You hold the key. No door is closed to ANY individual who joins the league. Anyone can be an agent, GM, Manager, Owner and so forth. Now, ofcourse, the GM, Manager and Owner positions are limited. So, not everything that joins can be one. But, the door is open to anyone. -> The best part is, you dictate your work load within the league. You can create a player and just check in on him once in awhile. Or you can immerse yourself in the league like some have. It's all up to you. So, drop by some of these links and check us out. Give us 10 minutes of your time and if you like what you see? Drop by the NEW PLAYERS section and submit an application. Thanks in advance. P.S. - If you're on AOL or Earthlink, the auto-responder on the board hates those two services. So, if you sign up and don't get a password? Contact me via e-mail at avwjase@yahoo.com and I will get you setup. Bump yet again. We're in the process of a possible expansion. Over 150 members in a little over 2 months [with over a 40% active handler ratio]... we're smokin'! Join in on the hottest thing going.

No mudsling towards our rivals -- no name calling. I'm running a clean campaign, so vote for me and I won't raise taxes.
Errrrrr. Ok, we're some joksters in SEBL and we do in fact have a thread about someone's sister. I mean, that's what we offer. Our handler base is generally 18-24 year old, college males. So yes, we have some crude humor -- but that's fun, right? Isn't that what a players league should offer? We may not be for everyone and that much I know. But, if you ask the 60-70 active posters we have, as well as the other 80-ish handlers that come around from time to time, I'd wager they all agree the SEBL is a fun league to be in. My current OOTP 6 [3, 4 & 5 as well]league, FBBL, opened in February 2001 and is still running. I'm a very dedicated commish. So, unless I die, the wife puts the foot down or god forbid, I lose function of my limbs, I feel pretty confident when I say the SEBL is here to stay. I have a great supporting cast. You guys have met Tim... I have two guys that help run the media section, two that help with our functional arbitration board and other guys that run graphic firms that produce images for the league. So, this is a 8-9 man effort. We were the first players league to offer ways to use your money. From buying a house to workout equipment -- to yes, even owning a franchise. It all originated here. We're winding down our second season and we're looking to expand... but to do that? We need at the _very_ least, 14 pitchers and 3 OF'ers. We won't turn down any player at any position... but those are the positions we need for sure. We ghave about three weeks in which to obtain these players -- so, guys? Give us a try. I think you'll enjoy it. All of the info can be found above. Jase |
