I've loved the Yankees my whole life. Ever since my father took me to my first game at Yankee Stadium, I was hooked. I was never one for autographs, but I wrote a letter to Lou Piniella and he was kind enough to return one. I was the happiest kid alive when I got it

No matter what Steinbrenner does, I can never lose my love for the Yankees.

"I think the Yankees' payroll is unfair."

And if someone attempts to engage me into a conversation about my answer in this poll.....good luck.

Yup I think there payroll is unfair... and among many things. I really wish MLB would establish a real Salary cap so other teams can compete.

im a yanks fan and i have to agree that the payroll has gone way too far.It takes alot of the joy out of watching and following the regular season.Still fun to crush Red Sox fans hopes in the playoffs though

I hate'em and have probably said it before. No real reason, just an irrational intestinal gut-loathing that vibrates though every fiber of my being. In that way, I keep in touch with my inner hater and affirm my humanity. For that, I have to thank them, but wish the worst upon them as well.

Heh.
That would be worth it. Maybe even for Yankee fans with a strong enough sense of irony.

Yankees

I wish there were more owners like steinbrenner, Win at all cost...Here is seattle "Stand Pat, and the Howard Lincon Choked at the trade deadline...................2 years in a row. With having one of the best teams at the deadline, then just being average the last half...

all I want is a world series in Seattle....but the owners only care about making a profit.

A season is unsuccessful if you dont win the world series...

THat is why baseball needs more owners like steinbrenner.

but I do hate the yankees just because they are one of Seattle's Rivals.

It's funny. Before I started posting here, I loathed the Yankees in every way, shape, and form. Then, I came here and started listening to the incessant whining of Red Sox fans and "small market" fans, always complaining and bitching about the "unfair" Yankees this and the "they always win" Yankees that. While I don't root for the Yankees to win ballgames, I pretty much support the organization when it comes to anything else. And it's due almost fully to the fact that I hate Yankee-bashing-whiners more than I hated the Yankees themselves.

With sixty-five votes in, I'm pretty impressed by the number of Yankees fans (with 11 either as diehard fans or rooting for them). One out of six is a pretty high ratio, considering that there are thirty teams in MLB.
