2 games into your new OOTP6 experience, not one of us will remember when it was released, nor that there was any fuss about it.

Would you prefer getting the game out based on the date, rather than by the quality of the product, ALA High Heat?

I, for one, trust the OOTP boys (and/or gals?).

JUST ONE REQUEST, THOUGH:

Since you have a few more days of programming, can you add a bit of programming into the commentary track? Here's what I was thinking:

"Now pitching for the Red Sox, [insert reliever's name here]. What's that? We've just learned that Pedro Martinez has left the ballpark!

or how about:

"Sidney Ponson's effectiveness will be reduced this inning due sticky fingers caused by the glazed do-nut he was shoving down his pie-hole between innings." His ratings would drop for the frame.

"Ken Griffey goes down with an injury." This message should happen at random times during the game... even if the Reds aren't playing.

"Two drunk guys with mullets have come onto the field and started beating up the coach!" You would be unable to manage for a specific period of time.

"The Philadelphia fans are booing and throwing their promotional Phillies horseshoes onto the field and it struck a player." That player would be injured.

You should also be able to juice your players with roids. Their power and injuries would increase, while their longevity would decrease.

Finally, you should be able to schedule opening day games in Japan. Team morality would decrease, fatigue would increase... and attendence would drop.

This will probably be my last post on this subject as I think it's getting ridiculous. I, for one, trust Markus and the others at OOTP. When the game is ready to be released, it will be. I still love playing OOTP5 and will continue to do so until OOTP6 is released.

GO RED SOX!!!!

We've unleashed a monster here.

Here's some more:

"...and Manny Ramirez didn't run out that ground ball!"

"Barry Bonds' head just eclipsed the sun."

"Ever since Nomar met Mia Hamm, he hits like Pokey Reese."

"Clemens demands a trade...he wants to play closer to home."

"Now pitching for the Rangers...oh, hell. Who cares."

"It's 'One Section for Every Fan' night here in SkyDome."

"The batter has been struck in the grill with a high 90's fastball! His face has been horribly disfigured!!!! Oh.... wait... that's Benito Santiago. His face was already like that. In fact, the pitcher hasn't thrown it yet. Wasn't paying attention... hehe, sorry."

Spectator Mode??

This has been mentioned a few times in the wishlist forums but I haven't seen any indication of whether or not it may be included.

If a true spectator mode (not requiring me to press a key or click the mouse to continue during a game when all options are set to CPU) has been implemented, I'll be ordering immediately.

OOTP is a great game and I'd love to join the ranks of those that enjoy playing it, but I can't enjoy being a GM if I have devote my full, undivided attention to every game on game day. I know I can just sim every game, but I like to watch the big matchups (arch rivalries, possible milestones, playoffs, etc.)

I thought that Grady Little was already in spectator mode after last years playoffs. Did he come out to go back in again?

rdklein, I don't know how old you are, but if your generation has a similar attitude toward life and people, I fear for our future world. You need to read a fine book, "How to Win Friends and Influence People" by Dale Carnegie.

As far as the OOTPB developers are concerned, they are dedicated to creating the best game possible and also to supporting their customers, while making a profit. I hope they get rich on this game because that means it will get better and better...and maybe one day with graphics.

They rewarded the OOTPB faithful with a $9 savings. I appreciate the gift and the nice gesture.

The vast majority of the OOTPB Community want a "perfected" game, not one rushed out to meet a deadline. Maybe one day you will mature and become a better person. I hope so.

In closing, I will "quote" the one of the greatest baseball philosophers, Yogi Berra: "It will be released when is released".

If it's good enough for Yogi, it's good enough for me.

"Nelson and Garcia are pounding on another bullpen attendent! Oh, the humanity!!!"

"Sosa swings...foul it off...what's all that stuff pouring out of his bat?"

"Long fly ball...THAT'S A GRAND SLAM FOR VENTURA...wait...what's this? Ventura cuts across the diamond...."

A Great Book says, "A gentle answer turneth away wrath".

Thank you for the gentle response.

I do have a sense of humor...a positive one that sees the good in people and doesn't degrade them. I wish everyone was like that. It would be a better world to live in.

Well, I certainly can't disagree that some more positivity would change the world for the better...and I'm certainly guilty of the opposite far too often.

And it's hard to be negative on the first beautiful day of the Spring (at least here in Boston).

I would like to see the following situation handled correctly. When your star pitcher is completely spent and you go out to the mound in Game 7 of the Pennant Championship and don't take him out .... either the crowd starts chanting "pussy, pussy, pussy" or you get an immediate e-mail firing you, and you are escorted by security guards out of the stadium before the next pitch is even thrown.

You are a good man, jgetman....totally agree with you.

I'm really pulling for the Red Sox, too. It is time to break the curse.

Cubs versus the Red Sox in October...at least in my hometown of Wonderland.

And merlins and rdkleins are always welcome.
