Manute Bol, he was never really able to develop his 3-point shot into a feared weapon.

I remember thinking Cherokee Parks would at least be a little better then he turned out. Eric Montross as well, he shoulda been better. Neither tops Sampson, but at least worth mentioning

I'm surprised to see only one mention of Shawn Bradley. Man was I steamed when the Sixers took that pick. What a stretch of terrible first round picks the Sixers went through...every year the Sixers would take someone who was unproven in college, but who caught the scouts' eye in pre-draft workouts...ugh.

I don't think it's fair to put Marcus Camby in with all these other ones. Does Michael Olowokandi count?

Camby isn't a bust....but I wouldn't call him a superstar either.

When making nominations, I think it would be fair to put guys who were actually expected to do something. Because if not, we could list a ton of players that won nat'l championships, dominated college basketball, etc...

I agree about Camby, that he isn't a superstar. I just don't think he bombed in the pros is all. That said, I'm an admitted Nuggets fanboy.

How about Erick Dampier and Adonal Foyle for a couple more recent picks?

You're correct, of course. But the thread topic is best college player to bomb, not guy you thought would be good in the pros and wasn't. And Corchiani was a real good college player. He had the NCAA career assist record when he was done at NC State.

Although you're right, Corchiani never looked like a legit prospect.

Kwami Brown and Odom seem to be on the verge of busting...

Lamar Odom- 16.2ppg, 8rebounds, 4.6assist, 1steal, 1.2blk and this year is his best year as a pro, I don't think that's a bust. It's also not spectacular either. I think his off the court issues had alot to do with your opinion. Note, 29 games in season 1, 49 in season 2, and 67 already this year...

Kwami Brown-His numbers aren't as close by any means, I would judge him a bust yet because he's having alot better year this year than his previous...

if you have them, then I don't see how Diop or Chandler aren't on the list...

Camby is most certainly a bust, considering the expectations when he was drafted. He was unanimously voted NCAA player of the year as junior. Camby went #2 in the draft right after Iverson and before Marbury, Ray Allen, Kobe Bryant, etc. in a strong draft class. He's not a bad player now, but I think just about everybody expected him to be a dominant force in the NBA. I sure did- I was in school at UMass when Camby played there, and I'd never seen a 6-11 guy who could move like that.
