I didn't include any boundary checking on the input. So you can enter RPG abilities over 5, ratings above 100, and for the most part, the game doesn't seem to mind. All ratings should be 255 or below however. I'll add some boundary checking.
MetsKid, originally the zip file WAS empty. I fixed it, edited my original post, and it should be working now. If you still can't get it to work, drop me an email and I'll reply with the executable attached. The board doesn't allow any .exe attachments, which is why it was zipped up originally. Brett |

Achievement is a combination of work and motivation.
My fundamental problem is achievement through cheating. Doesn't matter where....in the office, at McDonalds, or playing a single player game. Cheating is cheating...cheating is wrong. Repeat as often as it takes to sink in. It is the lack of ethics I see....and I see it all the time. Do I have a stick up my ass, as someone has said? No, of course not...my opinion is as valid as the next guys. |

Try the new money editor. Finished it earlier tonight.
Next up, I'll probably work on integrating the two editors, which means you won't have to worry about importing and exporting characters. Happy Holidays! Brett |

Any chance of making an editor that will allow you to tweak some of the personal information attributes (ie DOB, Height, weight)? The game seems to only generate 18 year old HS draftees not realizing that sometimes when a player gets drafted they are actually 17. Whenever I try to use my actual birthday for a 1995 career that I always used in OOTP it always generates my birthyear as 1976 opposed to 1977. And it also seems to generate some rather goofy height/weight combos, I have seen quite a few 6'7"-9" who only way 160-170 lbs. These are just minor annoyances that I can live with but I was curious if there was a way that I can edit them a little bit to reflect a little more accuracy.

Perhaps we could be a little bit nicer to dsvitak. For him, it's already depressing enough to live in the same world with us.

Just because the man voiced his opinion, you dont haveto go crush him down. Especially you mallignant, why go and taunt him just because he has an opinion? We all have our opinions and he was merely expressing what he feels to back up a previous statement, no more.

Yankees, it's not the fact he expressed his opinion that bothers me, it's the morally superior attitude that runs through the post.
Kind of makes me wonder if he was caught cheating at something in real life that makes him so against it... |

![]() Not to add even more fuel to the degeneration of this post (BTW, I think the editor is a cool idea, especially for the height/weight/age attributes and the money - can anyone say endorsement deal? ), but...That's fine if you think we're cheating with this thing, but can you help define cheating for me please? According to your definition, achievement comes through work and motivation (we won't even touch the fact that genetics has a play in what I'd define as achievement). Well what do you say to someone who reverse engineers an automotive safety product in order to make a car more safe and then sells their extra part or process back to the auto industry (or uses it within their own company)? Is that cheating? Certainly it comes through work and motivation, and it's even for a good cause. What about the cancer researcher who finds a way to create a better type of cancerous cell killer that piggybacks it's ideas off a current form of chemo-therapy? Is that cheating, or innovation? These are open-ended questions that need addressing, based on your model of achievement. To me Brett has simply used work and motivation (what else could it be to take the time to do what he's doing for free?) in order to adapt a product in a way he thinks people might glean enjoyment from it. How his adaptation is used, is entirely up to the end user, just like cloning, or oxycontin, or sex (whether infidelitous or not). Your assumption (which is probably a correct one, BTW) is that folks will use this to see how they can "boost" their characters into superplayers, when, in fact, some of us may be trying to figure out how the game works. The problem (and your fallacy) involves the fact that you definied achievement for us, which, as it stands, has no direct relationship to cheating. Regardless, you won't find me lying about something I did wrong at work on Monday because I gave my fictional CF superhuman fielding abilities. Sorry to drag on folks, and I'm not attacking you dsvitak, I'm just asking some questions that I think need to be addressed before you pass judgment on all of us (willing to use the editor). -E

I like the idea of being able to edit DOB, height, weight, but so far I haven't been able to find where / how those values are stored. I'll keep at it though. If anyone has any ideas, let me know.
Has anyone run into any problems with either editor so far? Brett |

While having a 2B with 130/130 potential and a flawless glove is nice, I think we can all agree that the best part of the editor is that you "get lucky" every time in the bar.

You actually have to do the importing and exporting at character creation.
When I get a chance, I'm going to try to change things so you can edit a character already in a league. Brett |
