Another bad day for the Jays. Not only did they lose, 5-1, to the A's, but Carlos Martinez left the game with pain in his shoulder. He was the expected Opening Day starter and now he won't be available for six weeks.

This is a reminder why allowing extra innings in Spring Training is silly.

The Red Sox beat the Blue Jays, 7-5, in 14 innings.

Toronto was putting out very tired pitchers who had no business out there.

Domingo Santana, Isael Soto, and Johan Mieses homered for Toronto.

Carlos Perez left the game with a stiff back, but we are told it isn't too serious.

WP - Kyle Martin (1-0)
Save - Javier Solano (1)
LP - Zach Emerson (0-2)

Spring Record - 2-6
