Game Path when Installing

I am having trouble getting my game to direct to the custom game path.

I thought I read there was an issue with the custom game path for FHM12 and wondering if there was a fix or workaround.

I just installed OOTP26 and did not have an issue.

Thanks.

Are you running the Steam version? If so, it can be done after the install and moved the files. If it's Fastspring, it's just an option at the beginning.

I am using Steam, but not sure what you mean about moving files after the install.

Once your game has been installed, click Settings, then click MISC. You should see an option for Custom Data Path.

Hi Adam,

I thought that is what you meant.

I done have this, but seems like the system it not recognizing the folder I created and is putting all the game files in the Main OOTP folder.

All the other OOTP games are fine.

How can I upload an image of the directory to show you?

Thanks.

The option you're using looks like the screenshot I've attached, right? The folder you've created should be listed in the "Custom Data Path" line. Make sure the folder name and path match exactly. If that looks OK, what's the exact name of your created folder? I'm wondering if there might be a special character or some other oddity that's preventing the custom path from working.

Yes that is where I am going int the game to set up the Custom Path.

The path is C:\Users\nugge\Documents\Out of the Park Developments\Franchise Hockey Manager 12

I am using this folder for my other OOTP games and have no issues.

I attached the file showing the Directory and the folders that are not going into the Franchise Hockey Manager 12 folder.

I've used the custom data path option without issue several times in FHM12.

Can you show me a screenshot of the custom data path screen in game? (like Adam has provided above).

Also - can you navigate to your AppData->Roaming directory (you can enter %appdata% in the windows search bar or explorer address bar to get there) and then check out the OOTP->FHM->paths.cfg file, that file should show the full address of the custom data path that you've set.

If both of those are indeed pointing to the FHM12 directory WITHIN the OOTP directory (and not the OOTP directory itself) then I'm presuming you could just cut and paste all of those folders from the install into the FHM12 directory and it would pick them up in game - as it looks for the path that is set via the game, even if there has been some sort of copying anomaly like this.

I checked the "AppData" folder and the files were not being directed to the correct path.

I corrected this and it seems to be working now.

Thanks for your help.
