This Game Deserves Better

26 versions in, and still this sort of stuff is happening way too often. Numerous lesser pitchers rested and available in my BP, losing a game 10-0, and the AI sends the Closer in.

I understand this programming can be tricky in parts, but this nonsense has been prevalent throughout with few signs of improvement despite continued reassurances.

What's the point of giving us the option to lay out a plan for RP usage if the game isn't going to follow it with at least even the remotest semblance of logic?

The title says it all. Frustrating in the extreme.

When did he last pitch? If he hasn't throw for like a week, the computer manager will put him in sometimes just to keep him loose.

Hey Matt, yeah that seems to be the thinking behind his usage here, although I can't say I agree with it. Then again, a thumping like that will make one feel aggrieved by almost anything, so recency bias for the win.

I know it's endeavouring to replicate how pitching coaches think and act IRL, and I can't deny the plausibility of him being used here in an actual game. So, consider it asked and answered.

Appreciate the reply.

Speaking of this, If a reliever does not get used (for whatever reason) and does not pitch for an extended amount of time will he become at risk for a performance drop or injury? Kind of like preseason rust?
