Sportpark de Paperclip

This is a big sports multiplex in Utrecht, the Netherlands. The entire ground contains numerous soccer/hockey fields, tennis courts, in-door gym, softball fields, and of course a baseball ballpark that is the home of Honkbal Hoofdklasse's UVV Utrecht. Obviously, my model is going to focus on this corner of the Sportpark. This is for OOTP after all.

The baseball park itself doesn't have much to look at. The advertised seating capacity is 1000, but I feel it's more in the 500~600 range. There are only a few small bleachers that I can see.

For this type of minimalistic ballpark, it is important to capture the essence of the surrounding environment. The most distinct feature is probably the uniquely shaped building called "SportCity" (which looms large behind home plate).

Backward compatibility (for OOTP25 and prior versions) -- edit the transparent Scoreboard_static.png file in the texture folder to have it cover up the dynamic scoreboard. Use my sample (Scoreboard_static_sample.png) if you don't want to make your own.

@BestbatBoy Eventually, I will probably get to all of them. There is only a few more. Right now, I will focus my next stadiums in other leagues before I come back to Honkbal Hoofdklasse. I have looked at several stadiums that are interesting to me in Cuba, Czech Republic, Taiwan and other places. Your requested stadiums should also be part of my next batch (one of Hoover Met/Jimmy John's, or possibly both).

@Suigi That's very likely, LOL. In real life, UVV is in 5th place, right? They should remain in Honkbal Hoofdklasse for at least another year. Actually, your Hoofddorp Pioniers is in danger of relegation if they are not careful....... Let's see how realistic OOTP is

IRL Hoofdklasse isn't part of the promotion/relegation system - Quick Amersfoort willingly left so Hoofdklasse would have an even eight teams.

Ahh, that's right. They had changed league format several years ago. Out of the current eight teams, we should already have stadiums for 6 of them. Only Twins and Penguins left so I will probably build their ballparks, too. No definite timeline yet.

Estadio Guillermón Moncada

Estadio Guillermón Moncada is located in Santiago de Cuba, and serves as the home of Avispas de Santiago de Cuba (who are historically one of the most successful teams in the Cuban League). It is the second largest baseball stadium in the country behind the famous Estadio Latinoamericano.

Red is the predominant color in this stadium. They even use it on the walls which is a rare sight. I also find the center field wall very interesting. It's real low and players can easily jump over it. What if the center fielder catches the ball and the momentum pushes him over. Would that be a homerun? Or he had to jump into the bullpen in order to make the catch. What would be the ruling on that? LOL. Unfortunately I never had a chance to watch a game here (either in person or on video). If anyone knows, please enlighten me.

Backward compatibility (for OOTP25 and prior versions) -- 2 sections use dynamic scoreboards - the Main Scoreboard and the Side Scoreboard. Edit the following two files in the texture folder if you want to use static scoreboards:

I have prepared samples (ScoreboardMain_Static_Sample.png & ScoreboardSide_Static_Sample.png) if you don't want to make your own. Just rename them accordingly.

Jimmy John's Field

Jimmy John's Field is located in Utica, Michigan. It is the one and only stadium in the United Shore Professional Baseball League (USPBL). All four teams in this independent league play in this stadium. I can't think of another stadium or league where this happens In addition, Jimmy John's Field also hosts various college baseball teams from time to time. I suppose it is a busy facility and very important to the locals.

The stadium has 4500 seat capacity but may push it higher by allowing fans to access the raised grass berms beyond outfield fences. There is a ton of amenities all around (ground level suites, patios, restaurants, bars, small concert stage...etc). The ballpark also features a wiffle ball field in the right field corner. That field even has its own scoreboard!

Overall, this is a fun stadium to build and can cover the entire USPBL if you want that league in your game.

Backward compatibility (for OOTP25 and prior versions) -- Edit the file "Screen.png" in order to cover up the dynamic scoreboard with a static texture. I have prepared a sample (Screen_sample.png) if you don't want to make your own. Just rename it and overwrite Screen.png.

Are you talking about the two black blocks beside the backstop windows? If so, those are the correct texture. I couldn't find anything better so I used a generic dark tunnel for that spot. Looks a little bit strange, eh?

I've been really busy with life and work in general, but I haven't forgotten my love for stadiums! My next stadium is slowly being built and I'm doing something a little different for this one.

In the preview picture below, you can see the ballpark is nestled between hills. The landscape is substantially "non-flat". It's hard to recreate that with any background pictures, so I'm actually going to implement raised terrain. It will be a while until I'm able to finish this project but the end result should be a fun model to put in the game. Just want to share what I've been playing around with lately.

Tried to download one of the stadia, and got an ugly false McAfee virus alert that tried to take over my screen. Had to abort. The "Mediafire" site appears to be infected - or that was one aggressive pop-up ad? I'm done. It's a shame. The stadia look awesome.

Pelican, if you are on Steam, you can go through the Workshop to get it. MediaFire is used by many. If you have an account no distracting ads come up. Clicking a false download ad or not waiting until some false download ad to go away and clicking it is, sadly, the risk with any site that hosts large files.
