Incorrect cap hit calculation on trade screen, negative cap space

I'm unsure how Columbus has negative cap space here. I'm unable to make any trade with them because of it.

On the NHL League Finances page they show as having 9m space (but other teams here have negative cap space). Other teams have similarly wrong & negative cap spaces too on the trade screen.

Can you upload that save? I checked in a test game that was also in midseason, but in that one the numbers all seem to match exactly between the trade and league finances screen, so we'd like to have a look at how that happened in your game. The only thing I can think of is that some teams might have free agent offers out, but in Columbus's case they'd need to have $13m worth, which seems unlikely.

I've encountered this again in a new save. Uploaded as "FHM-11-negative-cap".

Check Colorado Avalanche. In the trade screen they have -3.4m cap space, but under the finances window they have 5.7m. Islanders are another team with a mismatch in cap space, there might be others.

They have two expensive players on LTIR. They're getting cap relief from that so they have day-to-day cap space, but the trade screen shows their actual cap situation with no injury relief. If they weren't restricted in that way the AI could make trades that would put them well over the cap when the injured players returned.

I see - perhaps some transparency on that screen would be helpful then

There is a lot of detail that'd be nice on that screen, including the # of contracts the team has.

I'd love to see this worked into the GM's feedback "Sorry, I can't make the trade or I'll be in salary cap trouble when my injured players are back."
