This Game Doesn't Coddle Me
Ootp has become crap. I just watch my best players get long term injuries and my best prospects decline decline decline. There's never a season ending injury to a scrub, but always to ones best players. The game targets them. I've been playing since ootp2, but I can't continue with this absolute trash program.

I completely disagree.
If you want to discuss options to adjust the game experience to be more what you are looking for and/or provide useful criticism that the Devs can use to make the game better there is a community here that is great for that. If you are just stirring the pot. Good riddance. You aren't a pilot, no need to announce your departure...and all that. |

OOTP 25 is significantly more challenging than previous iterations. If you're expecting a similar challenge to prior versions, your game settings from prior versions will need to be tweaked for 25, I'm not sure this was made clear upon release.

And this guy: All while all these guys are not dealing with season ending injuries: I'm in July with "Low" injuries and not a single player rated better then a 60/60 is out for the season. I get it can be frustrating, but it's probably a mix of bad luck and/or poor organizational management. There's no hidden mechanic targeting your good players plus prospects bust all the time. Wouldn't it be way less fun if all the best players stayed healthy and all the top prospects developed into top players? |

You can fix and adjust everything you just complained about and if you have played this game since OOTP 2 you should know that and you should be an expert in working with all of these settings... TBH this post should be deleted because it's not a true statement of the game. Last edited by twins_34; 11-11-2024 at 05:15 PM. |

It would be easy and likely justified for the "upstairs office" to delete the post, but I think allowing it to stand with the responses from the faithful is a better testament to transparency.
I've been critical of many things over the years, but reactions and conversation go far to clarify justified criticism and "whining". Better to let the discussion find its own level of importance.

I guess sometimes one just has to vent their frustration. I don’t think he is a troll since apparently he has been a long time customer and has a lot of post.
Ideally he would have said he was very frustrated with this version, explained why, asked if anyone else is seeing it, explained his setting, and let the community give feedback. And after that he could have said the game isn’t for him anymore and just move on if that is what he wants to do. It is just a game that many enjoy. No need for hyperbole.

Check out this gem, https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...d.php?t=257776 So, I doubt he is really gone long-term. He's been hate-playing this game for over 20 years apparently. |

If they are like me, you just get tired of all the non-productive and vitriolic posts on OOTP. What's the point? So I tend to stay away unless I am downloading a patch or asking a question.

I completely understand where you're coming from. It's tough to see the forum in this state, especially when I think back to the heyday of OOTP. There was so much excitement and energy back then, with passionate discussions and a vibrant community.
I've been here for 20 plus years myself, and witnessing this is definitely disheartening. It feels like we've lost that spark that brought us all together. I miss those days when every new update sparked lively debates and everyone was eager to share their experiences. While I get that some posts can be frustrating, I think it’s the shared enthusiasm for the game that made this community special. Hopefully, we can find ways to reignite that passion and bring back some of the excitement we once had. |

So, people just want the game to be easy and they just win 13 titles in a row?

Everything changes, everything ends. We live in a world of people moving on to the next new shiny, and the Internet has a become a cesspool in places humans attempt to communicate. I've just accepted that I need to get what I can out of entertainment media and not expect anything more. There's barely enough time in life to enjoy your recreations and still have time to socialize about them.
