Transferring Player Files Between Leagues

I have been lovingly developing a Federal League for years, and periodically import young real-life players to go into a draft pool so my league doesn't get staffed only by old and decrepit players. After quite a bit of work today I finished importing several dozen players. I decided I had enough players to form a new minor league, and when I tried to create it I screwed things up and ended up deleting my Federal League (the two existing minor leagues stayed in place). Fortunately I had backed up the league, but not with my new list of free agents. Can I replace the players.dat file from the restored league with the players.dat file from the "bad" league and get my free agents back? I did check and despite eliminating the Federal League teams, the players are all still there.

Thanks, and yes, I should have backed up AGAIN once I finished my imports!
