As hockey is a kinda stepchild in the sports managment game genre i´m pretty stoked that Seb´s labor of love still exists and is -some year more, some less- getting better every year considering the mini-team that works on it.

For that alone i´m more than happy to pay the approx. €4,20 a month (usual price of the game divided up) to contribute to keep the company running.

Agreed and if anyone doesn't think they've made plenty of improvements to this franchise, I suggest reinstalling FHM 4 or 5 again, I'm not holding my breath for EA to put their NHL game on pc ever again and mods are the only thing keeping Eastside Hockey alive, so I want FHM to stay around as long as possible.

You can play EA hockey via xbox cloud on PC. Yeah it's not the same as a true PC release. Now that they've quit supporting PS4/XBONE, I could see them porting to PC. It's a market that hasn't been tapped in decades and could lead to some easy sales, at least the first year. LOL

Hockey Legacy Manager is released annually, is on mobile and PC, costs $5 a year, has custom continually updated rosters and receives updates to reported bugs usually within a week or so plus has a modern UI. So there is another option and it seems to have grown to more players than FHM at this point.

What is this based on?

Here's the Steam DB for the games - you can see the numbers for both, not to mention this is the brand new version of HLM(25) that has just dropped compared to the previous years iteration for FHM(10).

HLM - https://steamdb.info/app/3113870/charts/

FHM - https://steamdb.info/app/2384610/charts/#max

It's good for the Hockey market that there are other games out there being made too but lets not go crazy with these sorts of claims.

To be fair, HLM is also on iOS and Android. Judging by its discord, Steam seems to be its smallest user base.

Yeah, it's a mobile game - which is why I'm not sure comparing it to FHM is worth doing - if that's its primary market and target audience then it will have different priorities for development and it's PC version will always just be a port of the mobile.

I like what HLM has to offer as well, especially for the price point. I like that number of settings available such as prospect quality, salary cap, and the player development system they added this year. That said, unless someone does go out of their way to edit the rosters, it's going to be a long process for someone who wants the actual rosters. Thankfully there are a couple solid rosters available. Having options isn't going to make me stop supporting FHM though, as the more hockey games the better as far as I'm concerned.
