Unhappy Corrupt Save -- Looking for any help whatsoever (I think it's lost for good)

Originally posted this in the bug reports forum, apologies.

My game crashed in the middle of saving during the offseason and did not appear in the "Continue Game" section of the main menu.

I followed the typical instructions to restore from an autosave, but I think I really messed up due to misreading them. The instructions say to backup everything in the League folder, then copy over the files from the autosave folder. I uh... I backed up the correct files but then copied them and overwrote the autosave folder. Yeah, I know.

I tried deleting the temp folder that I saw but I keep getting the error "could not load players file!"

I think it's lost, yeah? I can send over any files for analysis but I think it's all lost. I would imagine it has to do with the timestamp on my world.dat file not matching the rest of the .dat's.

i was going to suggest auto save feature - it's worked for me in the past. Do you have a full backup of the game. It's fairly easy to restore the game to a previous point if you do have one. If not, it's a good practice to start making one on a regular basis. i create a new restore point after EVERY session i have on OOTP on an external HD.
Anyway - hope this helps. Starting over is a huge pain, which i learned the hard way before i started making regular back-ups.

here's a link on how to back-up and restore - starting at post 5, with some pics. hope it's helpful.
