no generated players performing

I feel like I read something on this recently. Im 10 years into my franchise. I dont have one draft pick or international signing on my roster. Ok maybe I havent drafted well or signed any good international players despite my scout being elite across the board. In the past games Id always have a couple guys 6th round picks killing it at 21-22 years old. Even going through league leaders the last few years I really havent seen any game generated players being great. All the league leaders are real life players. I even have player developement sped up some to younger which i always do. This is the biggest problem I have noticed from past versions.

OOTP 25 is definitely the hardest version I've ever played. For the first time ever, I was fired from my job and I even made the playoffs in my last season. My goals always revolve around attendance and bringing internal players to the big leagues and I can't get attendance to go up and draft picks and signees are not panning out. It's certainly more "real" than previous versions but not nearly as much fun.

Yeah, I need some more time with the game as GM/Mgr, but it does seem that in general 25 is harder to develop players, etc. but it needs more time to see just what is going on. Definitely a different feel. I am not committing to an opinion just yet.

It’s incredibly frustrating. I’m in the same boat - whenever I’m 10ish years into the future, all of the league leaders are still real life active players. Development is awful in this game and you get gaslit for mentioning it.

Yeah, I have development sped up as I always do a top notch scout not one single draft pick or international signing developing into a star player. League leaders are 32-37 year old real life players. Something got changed in player development.

I've never had this issue before in previous games Id always hit on some and have the next crop of young good players. Its been frustrating to say the least.

We have made adjustments over time to the player creation and development. It should be relatively balanced (although obviously current MLB has a lot of young stars, so they will likely be at the top of the charts for some years).

For example, I just took a new MLB test game and simmed it to the end of the 2031 season. The top WAR leaders among batters are Holliday, Chourio, Salas, J-Rod, and then #5 is a 2028 draft pick. After that it's Melton, Collier, Jordan Walker, Soto, etc... There's a few currently known players in there (Volpe, Elly, Morel, Carter) but it's a relatively spread out mix.

Pitching is similar. #1 in WAR by far is a 2029 first overall draft pick, and in the top 10 there's a handful of modern guys like Crochet, Webb, DL Hall, etc... There's a handful of draft picks too.

Every year and league will be a little different, but things should be fairly balanced at the moment.

I think this post proves our point, no? The future is comprised of real-life players and fictional top draft picks that dominate. Very seldom do you see anyone drafted beyond the 1st round succeed, regardless of TCR settings in my experience. The player development has been perfect for years and I’m not sure what happened this year, but it’s been incredibly frustrating. Respectfully.
