Trade AI giving minor leaguer veterans negative values

For some background info: game was started on latest patch, 25.2 Build 53, Steam version, on Windows. Trade Difficulty is 7 ticks towards Hard (3 away from max), and Trading Preference is neutral.

Not really a bug, more of a balance issue, but I've spotted something that I think is a little askew with the trade AI. I'm trying to swing a salary dump with a player that I want to get rid of, and the AI offered me this player:

Clearly not somebody of any value, but he's a minor leaguer on a minor league deal -- all good there, reasonable enough.

But when I toyed around with the trade, I could get them to throw in a legit prospect as well:

I thought this seemed weird, so I tried without Camargo (who I don't particularly want, I just want to get rid of a player), and the AI will not accept a deal for just the prospect:

This means that the AI's giving Camargo a negative value, even though in an absolute worst case scenario, he should be worth 0 -- because they can just cut him. Instead, they're willing to take on $1m of salary to get rid of a guy they can cut for $0. And they're willing to throw in a prospect for the privilege.

This feels skewed to me -- they're treating him like an overpaid veteran, even though he's not being paid anything at all. This can allow players to acquire prospects that should be off limits by taking on minor leaguers that you can then cut for free. Thought it was worth a shout, anyway!

Yeah, this seems kind of odd. Do you have the save and could you post it to Dropbox/google Drive and add a link here? It might be nice for us to be able to take a look at the logic.
