The OOTP employee who was responsible for checking on the steam approval might be the actual culprit here. Checking in on the status Wednesday and/or Thursday would have made a ton of sense…

I am still stunned, but then again, this is 2024, post-COVID workplace where mistakes are increasing as well as incompetence. Thankfully, Markus and co. aren't part of this!

If there is anything I have learned from years and years of MMO releases, it is to never plan on playing a game on release day.

With that said, Steam generally seems to resolve these types of release approval issues fairly quickly, so I would be surprised if the game doesn't launch soon.

Don't you think we checked on the status multiple times every single day and sent our Steam contact dozens of emails about this?

We won't start Perfect Team before the game is live on Steam. But in the meantime, you can simply play the core game, the release version is identical with the one released as beta here yesterday.

Thanks! Yes, it is super frustrating. The whole team has been working their butts off so that we can launch earlier than ever before, even beating MLB the Show, and now this.

I feel the frustration for you and your team, Markus. I can't begin to comprehend the amount of work that goes into a launch like this. Plus I imagine the devs are getting inundated with fixes this past week to get some higher priority stuff in prior to today which is greatly appreciated and also a lot of work.

Hopefully you and your team will be able to take some time off soon and get to enjoy the amount of happiness we derive from such a great product.

Personally, I don't care if the game is released today, tomorrow or next week - there's a full year of OOTP25 ahead of me.

But I know how much work you guys put into this, everything was done to have a super release ... and then everything is halted by the missing approval by Steam
