2D player icon editing question
Hi folks,
Would it be fairly easy to edit the 2D player icons to add team colored stripes to the bottoms of the squares? I have an idea to try to make them look like the team's jersey's, home and away. Where would the files for the icons be found? Could they be edited in Gimp or Photoshop and then placed back into the game? Thanks! |

So as far as I'm aware the game generates the player icon shapes based on the team's color settings. So to do this you would have to make a general shape icon like a circle or square 60x60 pixels as a template. Then use that template to design a home and away shape for each team with desired striping using whatever editing program you'd like just make sure to save them as a PNG.
You would then take your home team icon for example and rename it 4 different ways, home goalie, home goalie2, home player, home player2. Repeat this for the away icon. Once you are finished place them all in your rink_pics folder in whatever saved game or quickstart you plan on using them in. The naming scheme should follow: goalie-anaheim-ducks-away goalie-anaheim-ducks-away2 goalie-anaheim-ducks-home goalie-anaheim-ducks-home2 player-anaheim-ducks-away player-anaheim-ducks-away2 player-anaheim-ducks-home player-anaheim-ducks-home2 Hope this helps! |

Very helpful, thank you!
I’m going to try to open the icon files, add stripes and then re-save them… |

Ha ha cool. Compared to my previous format, this style is a lot easier. I will revive my 2D icon thread and begin sharing these icons.
