What does TTC mean?

I got promoted to a league this week in which half of the teams names are followed by TTC. What is this?

I could make a guess, but I don't want to be banned.

TTC is an abbreviation added by teams that are in the Theme Team Crew, a player-run collective of teams based around certain themes.

If you're implying that we're tanking, we absolutely are not. Straight up, that is not and never has been our intent.

Theme teams, especially ones with tight themes like "only players named Bob" or "highest position rating for the position, even pitcher" (I run both of them!) are going to struggle at upper levels. Last year most of the TTC clubs oscillated between Stone and Bronze, with a bare handful getting into Diamond.

We do try to load our friends list up with TTCers in the same level specifically so we're staying self-contained and minimizing the number of regular players who slot into our league.

Yup, fellow TTC'r here! The community is a BLAST, and very helpful. One of my theme teams Portland Athletics (History of Athletics) will probably never make it past silver and fluctuate around bronze. My 2nd theme team Portlandia Missions (only cards earned from Missions) has much more chance to succeed due to the amount of diamonds and perfects to earn in missions.

None of us are tanking and its just a way for us to have fun together and do something more structured than just having 3 PTs on our accounts all chasing meta cards. You should definitely check out @EVCinNYC2 on twitch and get the link to the discord and see how it is!

same, but I'll also add my theme did alot better when I forgot to update my friends list and ended up in a normal league. So we aint no jokes. My theme is Older and Wiser, cards with the oldest year of the player without using Live Cards.IE: 2009 Chase Utley vs 2007 Chase Utley cards

Also just for reference, theres TTC'rs throughout all the levels. I dont think we have any in Perfect league yet, but theres over 150 teams I think! Here's the breakdown of how many teams are in each league:

13 in Rookie
35 in Stone
37 in Iron
25 in Bronze
20 in Silver
19 in Gold
8 in Diamond

Technically, 'normal' teams that are seeded into TTC leagues for a season SHOULD actually have an advantage. While all TTC teams have restricted card pools, non TTC teams have the full pool available to choose meta cards. Non-TTC teams should usually always win their division and make it deep into the playoffs but its usually not the case. Thats more user ability, or lack of.
