Adding a Legend to Each Team - Capitals

Adding one team legend to each team to see if they can win a cup.

Hello! This is a series I'm hoping to be starting a sort of personal experiment. The rules are as follows.

- Opening Night starting rosters
- Player is imported from the historical players database without editing
- No active players will be added
- Player added is based on my own discretion and team needs
- Year will be their best (in my opinion) statistical year
- Sim will be month by month with no interference from me
- Each player will have a NMC to prevent them from being traded, and a league minimum cap hit to ensure the team stays otherwise intact

For the first team, we'll be adding Olaf Kolzig to the Washington Capitals. He is being imported from his 1997-98 season, during which he put up a career high .920 save percentage and an incredible playoff performance.

There were a number of players I could have gone with that are arguably more of "legends" than Kolzig such as Hunter or Gonchar, but Kolzig fills a large team need in goal.

Reunited with former teammate Alex Ovechkin, Kolzig joins the Capitals for their 2022 Cup Run. Olaf immediately slots in as the starter, with Ilya Samsonov is reported to be the backup.

Kolzig's debut preseason game saw him struggle, letting in 5 goals against the Jets. However, after playing 4 games in the preseason, Kolzig ends with a 3.27 GAA, .914 save percentage, and firmly in control of the starting job over a struggling Samsonov. Coach Peter Laviolette finally has a true answer in goal.

Kolzig opened the season with 5 games played in October, putting up a very respectable 3-1 record, with a .908 sv% and 3.13 GAA. Backup Samsonov however struggled, going 1-4 though 4 games, leaving the capitals with an even record.

The Capitals have 8 points, ranking third in the Metro.

In November, Kolzig's record dropped to an even 6-6 with a .901 SV% and a 3.44 GAA on the year.

The Capitals hold onto 4th in the Metro with a 10-11-2 record.
