Either organization could have decided to not sign an agreement. But why would they not take the money? Kind of a no brainer, right?
Yeah, I guess so. But you're talking about people who are throttling a golden goose with both hands, and no, I don't mean the players. The Yankees, just to use the most obvious example, have a player payroll of $211 million and a franchise value that is, depending on what source you believe, between $5 billion and $7 billion. With a dwindling customer base, in what could be used as a rebound year after a pandemic.

What was that about brains?

We were only talking about extending an agreement. Not about how entire franchises are being run.

I agree with the vast majority who consider this GREAT NEWS and appreciate the update. I should probably just quit there.

But I can't.....

This positive announcement should put an end to the tiresome "why aren't we hearing anything....this can't be good....the new overlords have sabotaged OOTP" speculation threads (I hope).

Unfortunately, it appears they will now be replaced with rampant speculation about what the delay truly means and how it is entirely geared to improving things other than what "I" want.

Really? Un-f'ing-believable.

And NO, I have never played Perfect Team and I am not interested in it.

I only play the OOTP core game. That is enough for me. And I am looking forward to it as I always have. Maybe moreso.

LOL! Great points. I think the human psyche, on the average, tends towards negativity. That probably doubles when it comes to gamers on the internet. And triples when it comes to the players of THIS game in particular!

I for one am looking forward to the release of OOTP23, both the base game and PT, even if there is a delay.

As someone who doesn't play PT, I've been extremely happy with the core game changes for each of the past two versions which have been significant.

Same here. I run OOTP22 on my iMac desktop and the ball in flight was largely invisible in 3D mode making that gameplay mode unusable. None of the various patches fixed the problem, so I gave up.

Did you try increasing the ball size setting when watching Replays (and not highlights?) I always make sure the ball is bigger than normal size so I can see it on screen.

Yan, and it's the point you make in the last sentence that is truly mind-boggling.

Maybe, just maybe, the reason we didn't 'hear anything' for a little while is because Markus was busy negotiating separate 5-year extensions with two opposite sides involved in delicate RL labor negotiations.
Do ya think it's possible? Even remotely?

I don't think it's particularly unique to this game.

To the OOTP team and fans:

There is a YouTube channel I suggest you follow because it has some OOTP videos on it and it's Robbie Hyde. I have included the link below:

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCv5...TPC-y8Lw/about

I think he would be a great addition to the OOTP team if they were interested in hiring another streamer.

I have it set to the largest size possible.

My thought for Markus and developers would be to take your time and do what is necessary to get everything right. Like many on this thread, I am willing to be patient, given that we have an awesome product in OOTP 22. I don’t think a few weeks delay or even a few months is critical. One thing, though. I hope the release schedule reverts back to a date in March during the preseason. In normal years (with Spring Training), the new OOTP release fits into that lull before the start of the regular season. This year I’m in Florida NOT seeing Grapefruit League games and glad to have OOTP instead.

I have played this version of OOTP on a surface book 2 and with a "big" ball setting the ball looks as big as a softball. Got a MacBook 14 and with the same settings (big for ball size) the ball is small almost like a golf ball.

Haha try playing it on a LG Superfine (5K) attached to a Macbook. I've stuck to the text game mostly because things don't scale particularly well. Also, I really wish I can re-skin the game to better suit my situation but there's a dearth of tutorials and the official links in the documentation lead to 404 back years and years.

DITTO. PT has killed OOTP for me. I'm looking for options
