No Farm Team Control for Expansion Team
Unfortunately, if you're starting up an expansion franchise with an expansion AHL affiliate, you do NOT have control of you farm team. This has been brought up several times and met with go-arounds/suggestions that do NOT work.
Here are the details, to avoid repeating previous posts: (1) Yes, I have set ALL responsibilities to me and only me (GM/Coach/Commish). You can check the boxes for farm team control but these settings do NOT save. If you leave the screen and return, even seconds later, the boxes are once again unchecked. (2) Jeff chimed in on an earlier post about a go-round via lineups rather than directly through the lines tab. This does NOT work either. None of the tabs (lines, lineups, etc.) under the AHL affiliate can alter the lines or priorities. In other words, there is no farm team control whatsoever. I also cannot hire/fire staff either. I understand that FHM 7 is run by an incredibly small and dedicated crew, and I am grateful that we even have this game to begin with. But this is one issue that really needs to be addressed soon. Lack of farm team control is why I ultimately put down FHM 6, and while I'm guessing that farm team control works perfectly fine for those who don't create their own expansion team/AHL affiliate, that does nothing for those of who do. |

I have to agree here. This should have been a huge priority and I have not downloaded the patch but it seems like it hasn't been fixed either. I will wait for Jeff's response but I am going to probably ask for a refund. I cannot play FHM without farm team control

I hear you Risk. The whole draw for me with games like this is complete organizational creation and control. The other bells and whistles are nice, don't get me wrong, but not enough for me to overlook this glaring oversight. Or the fact that this was one of the selling points for FHM 7.
I'm assuming no one thought to test out farm team control on an expansion franchise (with an expansion AHL team, but I can't imagine anyone testing out an expansion team with an existing AHL team). Either way, it's not a good look. Unfortunate, too, because there is so much to love about this series. Last edited by kibasan; 12-23-2020 at 07:06 PM. |

Damnit, it looks like the button to enable control of the farm team's lineup screen was left out of the release build. The ability to control that screen exists, but you can't turn it on. We'll have to update to fix that, but at this point it won't be until after Christmas.

Appreciate the reply Jeff. I tried messing around with it some more this weekend, but there is no way to control your AHL lines or staff for an expansion team. Even altering the depth chart of the NHL team (by position, so that your prospects are ranked accordingly) has no bearing on your AHL lines or even which skaters are dressed. I pretty much gave up after the AHL coach insisting on relegating my top 3 prospects (all 4 star potential) to the "reserve" list.
This also applies to any one with designs on creating the Seattle Kraken franchise. Sure, you can create the Kraken and their AHL affiliate easily enough, but you will have no control over their minor league system. Any idea when this might get fixed? |

I was able to work around this by unlinking the AHL team and then relinking it in the NHL team's Edit menu with Commissioner Mode on.
