But what I've *never* seen is a H+E combo on the infield. (Occasionally, OFers will overrun/bobble hits to them.) Third baseman makes a pick-up of an infield dribbler, throw to first is not only too late but also goes down the line for free bases... |

More from me:
an easier way to make sure transferring saves between computers actually works I'm still not entirely sure how to transfer a save from one computer to another without spmething vital getting left behind Edit: I keep coming up with more Managerial leaderboards - IE career wins, most years managed, playoff appearances, playoff wins for players - career postseason leaderboards

Please fix a player who is traded to another team and his original team wins the championship, getting a ring in their player awards profile.

Biggest thing is, our ability page needs formatting options! That is a huge mess One think formatted L, another formatted C, and another formatted R. Would rather see names formatted left, everything with a single letter S/L/R or numbers, centered
Would love to see a huge change in the sound library. Would be really nice to have a strike one call, strike 2 call, and strike 3 call out. Even Balls would be nice. Also would LOVE to hear the ump call a runner out at first every time they are thrown out, not just in when a team turns a double play. Would love to hear outs when you are thrown out trying to steal. Walkups, make them stadium specific over needing to throw them all in the parent sounds. This way as we changed stadiums and have them players on our teams, we just have to load the stadium and the sounds work for that stadium. Way better over the current version. And please for the love of Pete!!!!! Make it so the 1st baseman stays on the bag after he catches the ball! Him jumping off always makes me think there is going to be an error or something. That's some of my ideas. Advancing the sounds a bit more and fixing some visuals.

I would like to see the ability to draft historical minor leaguers in a fictional draft.

Two fixes I'd like to see;
Fix it when a player gets traded before the deadline, and his original team wins the championship, he gets a "ring" on his player awards profile and history. Fix AI usage of relievers in Spring Training. Too many pitchers are used multiple innings when there are plenty of available relievers. |

This is super minor, but while in the game if a side hasn't scored there is nothing on their side of the inning box. But, once they score a number shows up in the inning box. This can be confusing if I am walking around and listening and walk by to see the score (I play the games but Manager does the actual in game managing). I like to have the games playing while I do other stuff. Anyway, it makes it confusing, at a glance, on what part of the inning I am in. Either it's the bottom of the 5th because I see numbers in the top of the 5th slot, or its the top of the 5th and I have to assume the away team has scored.
Can it either be always a number in the current half of the inning, or never a number in the current half of an inning? |

This seems to be a rogue thread, so I'm not confident that anything posted here will be added to an official wish list, but I'll chime in some thoughts anyway (and repeat when an official "Suggestions for 23" board is opened).
Anything (and everything!) that supports historic era play beyond what's currently in-game. For example: * The MLB record book is a combination of the records of multiple independent leagues (National League, Players League, Union Association, Negro Southern League, etc.). In OOTP if setting these leagues as independent leagues, there is no way to combine their record books (and possibly Hall of Fame--I haven't gotten to 1936 yet). Seems like expanding the "Association" feature could fix this. * Being able to control what coaches a team hires, similar to how "Use base coaches" is an option now. Bench, hitting and pitching coaches were not in widespread use until the early part of the 20th century. * An option to "archive" a team (or league) rather than delete it when the team (or league) folds. This is similar to players who retire. They no longer play, but they still existed and are in-game. In the early days of baseball teams and leagues folded, and while they will show up in OOTP as "Inactive", you can't view them in game anymore. * Similar to above, an easier ability to merge teams (and leagues). In the early days, this happened too! * A more robust scheduling tool. The in-game scheduling engine should have options for "day games only", or "weekends only" (common in the early days), or "never schedule on .... [certain days]". Options to schedule double headers would also be nice. * An option to use a player's nickname as their "primary name" in lists, box scores, etc. While someone like Cal "Iron Man" Ripken should be listed as Ripken, Cal or Ripken, C., others like Denton "Cy" Young should be listed as Young, Cy or Young, C. Right now the only way to do this is to put their nickname in their given name field. Again, mostly for 19th century play, when nearly every ball player had a nickname. * Player managers. Rather common in the early days. And while I'm at it, the ability to not have a GM (or merge GM and Owner). Owners were effectively the team's GM in the early days of baseball (the first GMs did not appear until the 1920s). I'm sure I can think of others. Basically I want to play baseball in the early days and have it really feel like baseball felt back then. In many ways it does, but the options are still far more limited to mimic real life, say in 1885, than in 1985. Last edited by cbbl; 08-26-2021 at 03:36 PM. |

Some of these are mentioned above, but here is my wish list for 23:
1) sortable team stats with all stats, filters, etc. the same as available for player stats. 2) I love the roster option on the home/manager screen, but it would be so much nicer if you also included bench players since you already have positional starters, rotation, and bullpen. Its all that's needed to be able to see the whole team/stats at a glance. 3) restore the F keys functionality when switching between pitchers/players so that the player group/stats changes with the key press. Seems like this used to work until a couple versions ago. 4) would like to see "player of the game" as a stat whose running total is maintained as other stats. Perhaps even have each team name a MVP based on these totals (or other criteria) and human managed teams be able to select on whatever basis they choose. 5) not sure if you mean to include PT improvements here, but I have been a big fan of it until this year- even managing 9 teams last year -almost all with team/historical theme based rosters. But with the missions this year (especially the build-a-legend progression) I hardly check my (significantly fewer) teams once a week. The aforementioned missions required me to invest tons of PP for high quality cards that had no connection to the team I was trying to build a roster for. Then they would be locked to my collection even though my self-limiting rules meant they would never play. That puts me in danger of being flagged for "tanking" and possible banning from the game. So I really could not take a chance on completing those missions and lost interest from there. I only have 1 theme based team this year and hardly check any of the others. Please move away from that style of missions for next year. Team/Era missions should only include cards from that Team/Era. 6) love the 3d and especially the new parks. Please continue improvements there and make better tools available to modders so they can create historical parks closer to the quality of the current ones. (although they already do incredible work with the tools they have) 7) would still like to see an option in the manager's screen that would show info about players who had been put on waivers. The transactions option only shows them after they have been claimed and switched organizations. Would like to see who becomes available without having to switch to the waivers dedicated screen every day that you advance a sim. 8) a small item but really aggravating- when playing out games the only widget that doesn't remember where I put it and has to be adjusted every time I open the game is the weather/ballpark one. Would be really nice if it remembered its place. That's all I can think of at the moment (though I am sure I will remember more as soon as I hit Post) Overall, I still spend way too much time on this game, and appreciate the product you have made available that has provided me so many enjoyable hours. |

I also still want to see improvements to the Team History: specifically, all-time records vs opponents (including separate playoffs section). I would also like to see an option for team Rivals: Games against rivals could have following effects: Owner more upset with losses (owner goals); higher attendance, increased chance of brawl/ejections, more likely to generate news story; more difficult to trade with rivals/harder to sign free-agents from a rival team. Improved News functions: Options to choose statistical levels at which a story is generated. For instance, currently, a majority of shutouts generate stories (not great in the '70's or pitching era's) or any time a player gets 5 hits (even 5 singles in an extra inning game). However, no story is generated if a player steals 4 bases in a game, or hits 5 doubles (or league records for that type of single game stat). |

For convenience sake:
When working on a trade, there is a beautiful little "Strength Chart" that sits in between your team box and the trade partner team's box. "P" and "S" columns for Prospects and Starters with each position including batters and pitchers, rated with a colored radio button from poor (red) to great (blue). I would really like to see this small chart make an appearance in the team head scout area or perhaps the player progression screens as it is a handy reference. Handy enough that I find myself duplicating it on an index card so I can quickly reference it when working through considering moves as GM. Thanks!

While the 'accomplishment' screen is an interesting view, the data should all be available in other views. Most importantly TEAM and Player stats. Heck i should be able to create a player or team view that shows total times player is injured or on injured list or called up and down (since for whatever reason my AI moves players up and down weekly) |
