[Updated Aug 10] New OOTP 22 public beta patch (version 22.8.68) available!

Update August 10: We found a rare crashing issue when simulating and have updated the public beta to version 22.6.68. The links have been updated below and the new version is live on Steam, please give it a try. If this is stable, it will launch officially August 11.

Important: This patch is only for OOTP 22 versions which were purchased directly from us or resellers who use our version. It is also available via the Steam client with the public password below.
It is NOT compatible with the Mac OSX AppStore version!

Hi everybody!

We are close to launching the next official update early next week, so here is a new public beta, version 22.8.68.

Use this at your own risk! Please back up important league files before loading them in this beta. This patch is somewhat compatible with the previous patch for online leagues - exports will work between versions, but once the commish has updated versions and uploaded a new league file, clients will need to be on this version as well to continue.

Changelist (22.8.68):
- Updated default roster sets and player ratings (need to start a new game for changes to apply)
- Suspended players may now be placed on the restricted list (injured list) for the duration of their suspension
- Fixed some handling of waive/DFA actions
- Fixed trades not appearing on pending trades pagem
- Updated player creation/development
- Fixed back button logic on player pages
- Fixed hiring a coach when AI Manager should be in control
- Updated projected financials to better account for gate share
- Fixed ability to remove DH and keep current lineup together (multi-step process - can move DH to “-” to remove, then select a new position for them, and move someone else from the lineup to P if you want your current RF to pitch)
- Fixed some internal contract valuations for lower tier leagues
- Fixed some various issues with roster moves (IL backdating limited to 3 days, when players can be optioned/placed on waivers, etc…)
- Fixed preseason prediction report not updating
- Fixed clinch status errors when tiebreak games still exist for teams
- Adjusted some PCMs in the quickstart
- Added updated draft list for Live Starts
- Renamed and updated FCL and ACL leagues and teams
- Live Start: includes all-star appearances for players
- PT: Sortable Stats will pre-filter players who never appear (should help get under pagination limits for larger tournaments)
- Several other bug fixes and tweaks

How to access the beta on Steam:

• Quit OOTP 22 if it's running.
• Open Steam client -> Library
• Right click on Out of the Park Baseball 22
• Click on "Properties" at the bottom of the menu
• Click on the beta tab. Here, enter the following code / password: publicbeta22
• Click on "Check code"
• Open the beta pull-down and select "publicbeta".
• Close the Steam client (Steam menu -> Exit)
• Open the client again. It should then download the beta build.

Update Info for our webstore customers: To apply the update, simply download the setup file and install it over your current installation. There is no need to uninstall or unlicense your current copy! However, you should quit the game before installing it, of course. Updates always contain all the changes from previous updates. Saved games are compatible between different versions.

Here's a PC installer (Fastspring) that installs into a single folder, which is useful for external HDs for example. Or for creating a second test install of the game, so you can try the patch out without the risk of messing up your main install of the game if something is wrong in the patch:

The issue was the 40-Man roster problem.

Yeah. We also turned off the ability for teams to directly buy players from the LMB as well, so that should really doubly fix the issues there.

Has anything been tweaked regarding injury frequency in this latest update?

I've had 7 starting pitchers get injured in my last 10 games, all since applying this update. I'm either hitting the worth string of luck ever, or something was adjusted?

This patch seems to have introduced a new bug with the Classic 3D view. If you're not in full-screen mode, the picture of the field does not line up with the black box where the field is supposed to show up.

I replied directly via PM and in the bug thread, but now that I know the issue is with the beta patch, one other thing I'd recommend trying is just force reinstalling the game data, as it's always possible the patch somehow didn't properly or fully install, which could lead to crashes.

So if you're on the standalone version of the game, go to 'settings' > 'troubleshooting' > 'force reinstall game data'. On the Steam version, go to the Steam client, right click on OOTP then go to 'properties' > 'local files' > 'verify integrity of game files'

IS there a way to turn off the "Real Life Stats" Tab on a player profile when you start a live start game? It is making the scroll down tab "ratings relative to MLB" cover the Editing Tab on a player profile
