Exclamation Roster set issues (MLB / MiLB / International / Indy leagues) go here!

Hey guys,

we want to constantly improve the real roster set, so please post issues you run across here once the game is released. Keep in mind though, it is not Opening Day yet, so these rosters are meant to be projections and obviously not the final version.

Please do not post issues with players being on wrong rosters, minor league levels, on or not on the 40-man rosters, lineups, pitching staff spots. Yhe AI sets these up and there is nothing we can do to force player X to be used in a certain predefined way.

Also, do not post stuff like "Trout just hit .260 in my sim, this cannot be right." or "Why has X better ratings than Y?". Posts like these will be ignored! Major league player ratings are based on ZiPS projections, not opinion.

Please, please before you make any comments in this thread that touch on ratings or rankings, turn off scouting. If you're commenting when you still have scouting on, it's inaccurate, confusing and a waste of both our time and your own.

Please post here:
- Errors in contracts
- Issues with players being in the wrong organization
- Vastly wrong player ratings (disable scouting first so you see the real ratings), for example a Double-A scrub having allstar-calibre ratings

Thanks for helping!
Markus

Here's a little roadmap to let you guys know about any currently outstanding areas of the rosters that we are still working on updating.

Anything that falls into these categories, you don't need to mention here as it in the process of being worked on. It may take a month or two and a few patches in to see all of this done, but we'll get there

MLB/MILB:

-Injuries should be pretty well set up to date for MLB and 40-man roster type players. They may not be set for lower level MiLB players and prospects. So if you know of an injury to a lower level prospect not in the game,
please do post and let us know. Or an injury in-game that is actually an old one that needs to be removed.
-Top prospect lists are mostly up to date and the players are properly rated for players in the top 30-50 for most teams. Some teams, for players closer to the bottom of the top 50 we will still do a few more tweaks.
-We'll also work on reviewing lower level prospects and adjusting current ratings to ensure players get assigned to an appropriate minor league level as the milb rosters start to fill out in real life.

Stats we are in the process of adding, which are not currently in-game:

-CPBL Futures League 2020
-SILP and BCL 2019 and 2020
-Cuban Serie Nacional 20-21
-American Association, United Shore and Pecos League 2020

Rosters still being worked on in the following leagues, so some teams may only have a few players and need to sign free agents:

-US Indy Leagues (these won't fill up until the leagues themselves start signing more players, which likely won't happen in earnest for another month or so)
-Japanese Indy Leagues (SILP and BCL)
-European Leagues (these won't be filled out until sometime after the teams and leagues publish their 2021 rosters)

We'll continue to work on adding even more players and adjusting player ratings in the future draft classes for MLB and the KBO, as well as start adding real players to the *** and CPBL future draft classes (there are a handful here already, but not many).

Injury to be updated - Gio Urshela is recovered from his injury (he has been playing in spring training games for a while now), but is listed as on the IL to start the season.

Also when looking for a coach I see one named "TEST TEST" that I assume was meant to be removed.

Two weight errors:

- Dong-chan Kim (Gyeongsan) is listed as 2020 lb
- Blake Noblin (draft pool) is listed as 20 lb

I presume they're meant to be 220 and 200 lb respectively?

202 and 205 actually.

Fixed!

Most of the minor leagues still have the abbreviations of their predecessors (IL, PCL, et cetera)

Just a quick one: Matt Carpenter has no skills at 2B, but clearly he has played there before at around league average level. And in 2021 he is the main backup at that position.

Yeah. That's intentional. The current league names do not lend themselves to easy abbreviations and the word on the street is that a lot of the leagues will end up keeping their old names anyway after the licensing is worked out.

So the abbreviations are really just temporary until we see what happens with the league names.

Contract errors I've noticed so far (sourcing Cot's for all noted errors; will either edit or post separate updates):

Phillies
-Andrew McCutchen is in the final year of his deal, making $20M
-Odubel Herrera's contract for 2022 is not guaranteed. He has a $11.5M team option for 2022 and a $12.5M team option for 2023
-Scott Kingery's 2024, 2025 and 2026 contracts should all be team options (not just the last year)
-none of Matt Joyce, Brandon Kintzler or Ronald Torreyes are guaranteed deals just yet. Kintzler's is worth $3M if he makes the team; I don't know for the other two, but they shouldn't be on the payroll yet (unless that's just the AI)

Diamondbacks
-Ketel Marte's last 2 years should both be team options; as of now, only the last one shows up that way ($1M and $1.5M buyouts, respectively)
-Eduardo Escobar is making $7.5M, not $7.7M
-Kole Calhoun should have a $2M buyout on his team option (unless buyouts are being ignored )

Braves
-Ronald Acuña Jr.'s last two years should both be team options; as of now, only the last one shows up that way ($10M buyout on year 1; unsure of the second)
-Ozzie Albies' last two years should both be team options; as of now, only the last one shows up that way ($4M buyout on year 1; $0 buyout for year 2)
-Josh Tomlin has a $250K buyout on his team option

Unfortunately, we can't do deals with multiple team options or non-guaranteed deals in the roster editor we use. Those are on the list of things to add when possible though.

The game shows that Evan Longoria has a team option prior to both the 2022 and 2023 seasons, while in real life there is no team option for 2022, just 2023.

Edit: I noticed one more small one, Melvin Adon is a free agent in the game but should be on the Giants

Adon was released and re-signed it will be reflected in the next update

Not sure if this goes here but I've ran a test simulation to the start of the season 10 different times an each time Jared Kelenic is only coming through as 3 stars. Kid is one of the top prospects in the game and should be 5 stars. Again before anyone says anything, yes it's a computer based game and they don't know prospects like humans but shouldn't he as well as some other top 5/top 10 be higher than 3 stars?

I can easily go in an edit it but i'm currently playing as the manager only and i don't have that option.

1. It looks like many prospects with any playtime last year whatsoever have lost their rookie status for this year, which means guys like Joey Bart and Ian Anderson are not ROTY eligible. It also means that the actual rankings of the farm systems are a bit weird, like the Rays only being the fifth-best.

2. Building off of this, only Matt Manning and McKenzie Gore have potential ratings of 60 or over for pitching prospects. Between that and some of the ratings given to the 2021 Draft class and beyond, it looks like the top end of pitching prospect rankings has been somewhat neutered. Sorry to post this here if this was working as intended.

Thanks - is it different from the one in-game? I know there's a 2 TO limit so I just figured it was tied to that somehow.

One of my friends who's in the Minnesota Twins minor league org and was signed last year (and who got his date for minor league camp!), Lucas Sweany, is listed as "Retired" and is not in the Twins' organization. I don't know if this is because he hasn't played minor league ball yet, but just a heads-up.

(And if this post goes against the rules of this thread, please delete)
