Animation and boundary fixes?
I hope this portion of the game has received the attention it needs. I've come to really love 3D play and it has come a long way, but there are still so many bad animation, ball physics, and boundary issues. It's super distracting to me.

Yeah. I agree. I find it funny that out field fences work most of the time but, backstops on passed balls do not stop anything. Then you have the ground rule doubles that bounce all over the place.

I agree as well. I think we've all been pretty patient and will continue to be up to a point. It is still a work in progress, but it's no longer a new feature. Bottom line: if you're going to have a graphical representation of a baseball game, walls and foul lines have to have some meaning. Balls hit out of the stadium and foul balls over the 1st base dugout both turning into doubles shatters the visual illusion.

When I was on the Beta Team doing News Stories and PBP, we could track down errors and correct them... hope the animation is that way, too. |

I've been reporting them in the forum (https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...d.php?t=311469), but I'm not sure if they are actually fixing them. Sometimes it's a "little two steps forward, one step back" as well... some issues fixed, but new ones introduced.

The one I love the most is the ball that's hit as a homerun.... but falls through the stands and ends up being a double even thought the outfielder is running for like 10 blocks going to pick up the ball.
Even though the graphics are basic, I would still rather play this than any baseball game. |

Would be nice if we could stretch the "Pitches" window to make it taller.

Not sure maybe it still does in the classic view? In any case I wouldn't leave the full screen glory of modern view to get it back. But yeah fully behind having it back!

I need no more graphical improvements - very happy with how things currently look - but yes, cleaning up these things are the last thing that's needed to make it. . . perfect.

I had a ball hit into the LF/CF gap to the wall. SS ran out to the wall picked up the ball and threw out the batter at 1st.

Please don't turn this into a thread where everyone reports their instance of bad animations. There is a thread for that. If you post it here it is not going to be fixed. If you post without the game log, the one you make from a replay, in the proper thread there is no way to fix it. The developer needs that info or has no idea in what stadium it happened. Posting it here is a waste of time. Thanks.

Speaking of 3D, I saw the note / picture in another thread on the MLB stadium improvements, and they look great.
I know we are here mostly for the simulation, but I really enjoy seeing my GM moves played-out in the 3D, as I play-out all of my games. If they improve the player models themselves a bit more in 22 (more detail on the uniforms, a bit more natural player models etc...), that would be so cool! I think I'd be set for a while with my new PC set-up. -Cal |

I have great graphics in my Islandian Pro Alliance dynasty report league and my North Island-South Island dynasty report league (logos, jerseys, stadiums)... if the animation gets better in OOTP22, I will be in baseball heaven. I would be happy if they just fix the bugs in it... but I wouldn't complain if they made wholesale animation improvements with lots and lots of improved animations... hopefully the new owners and new company will give Markus more people to make needed improvements. |

I know I would like to see the player models spiffed up a bit. More work on the making the complete uniform customizable (pants, socks, stirrups, things like that) having the ability to display names and numbers on the backs would be key too.
