BNSL - Former DMB league moving to OOTP with 1 opening

BNSL is a current-season league where GMs manage a franchise populated by real players that develop and perform based on their real-life counterparts. 2021 marks a turning point for the league, as after 13 years running on Diamond Mind Baseball we are making the leap to OOTP. We’re excited but also a little daunted by the transition, so we would welcome OOTP veterans looking to join a long-running and stable league while helping it transition into something new and better.

Our season runs in parallel with the MLB season and will use the latest version of OOTP and its real-life-derived ratings for each new season. Most OOTP features (e.g. player personalities) will be turned off, at least for the time being while we get our feet wet.

We also have a custom financial system designed to flatten out (but not entirely eliminate) the revenue disparity of MLB; player acquisition via a free agent auction, waiver claims, rule five draft and and 10 round “minor league” draft (of MLB draftees, IFAs, and undrafted minor leaguers); an active trading market that is just heating up as we head towards winter meetings; and various other features designed to mirror MLB.

Most importantly, we have a large number of passionate GMs who love both the game of baseball and the challenge of building a franchise capable of claiming a World Series title. We’d love to have you join us!

Opening(s): General Manager for San Francisco Giants

BNSL currently has an opening for GM of the San Francisco Giants. The Giants are a team somewhat at the crossroads, with a few top-end pieces in Blake Snell, Manny Machado and Bryce Harper on team-friendly contracts but a farm system lacking both depth and high-end prospects. A rebuild probably isn’t too far away, but whether you dive right into that or try to squeeze another year out of the current core first is up to you.

SF Roster

Basic Overview of Responsibilities:

1. Manage a franchise of 100 or more players:
a. Acquire players via FA, trade, rule 5 and rookie drafts, waivers, etc.
b. Exercise team options and sign players to contract extensions
c. Assign players to the active or 40 man roster
d. Set roles, lineups, etc. for the active roster
2. Participate in league discussions and activity
a. Maintain a team forum, including a trade block, prospect list, etc.
b. Participate in league discussions on the league forum
c. Participate in Winter Meetings where the league discusses rule
changes
d. Vote for All-Star teams and end-of-season awards
3. Pay dues ($9/year) for league forum/interface costs.
